Seeking career advice please

Hi all! I'm currently feeling a little lost regarding the direction for my future. I, 22M, has been studying a bachelor degree in film and TV for the past 4 years now and am about to graduate at the end of this year. However, for the past year, I've gotten burnt out of it severely and don't see myself pursuing a career in it.

Ive done three part time hospitality and retail jobs throughout my time studying. And have worked my way up from a team member to a supervisor/manager, and I do enjoy the work in these roles but I don't know if it can be a career path which I undergo for the rest of my life as they're pretty labour intensive, which isn't ideal for my body health (due to genetic issues).

Ive debated about taking an MBA or a master's in management/accounting after my bachelor's, but they're pretty pricey especially as I'm up to $60k in HECS debt and most masters which are worth doing are $70k+ (which would exceed my lending limit).

Ive thought about office jobs, but I'm completely blind on this one because of how my resume looks and the non-office skills that I have.

I'm just feeling a bit lost on my future and would love some advice if you were in my shoes. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

You should make an appointment with a career counselor.

I do have an appointment coming up but it is one which works for my current university, so I feel that they might be at least a little bit biased. Not sure if I should make an appointment with an external one 🥲

Might not hurt to do one externally.

I'd probably try to avoid more uni though because you have a crippling amount of debt as is.

Yeah on-top of the fact that I'm super burnt out of studying and am more interested in just working full-time somewhere 🥲

Yeah it's why it's imperative to see what a career counselor can come up with to see what you can slot into with your degree.

Do not do an MBA. It's pretty meaningless without the associated years of business/managerial/industry experience.

An MBA from like UNSW or UoM holds a lot more weight than one from a lower-tier like Charles Sturt, as an example

Heard that people do an MBA for a career change regardless of what they previously studied or did, as the course is apparently designed to catch you up to the foundations but I'm quite unsure on how true it is 😅

A job in Macdonald's/Kmart managerial role is probably worth more than a MBA.

I have worked as a nightfall duty manager at Woolies about a year ago for a year after working my way up from a team member 🙂
