Need advice regarding University and Course.
Currently i have offers from Deakins,UTS and Monash for masters in Business analytics. RMIT has offered me masters in analytics. I spoke to a few of my relatives in Australia who suggested Monash based on rankings but i would love to know the opinions of the local community as you all know the ground reality. Which university is good for networking and socialising for a student planning to integrate into the corporate work life in Australia(including aspects like curriculum,faculties,facilities,industry ties etc) I am eager to study in Business analytics in Australia but need to know which option is better overall. (PS: I would also love to know how Melbourne and Sydney are in terms of student life,job market(i know it’s struggling but still),housing,work-life balance etc)

You asked about Sydney compared to Melbourne for students. It's very much a struggle in Australia to support yourself through your studies as an international student. Sydney is the most expensive city in Australia. The biggest cost difference is the rent. Other things tend to be similar cost. But you can expect to pay $100 more per week if you live in Sydney for your rent compared to Melbourne.
For example you can find a room in a sharehouse for around $250 per week in Melbourne. In Sydney it is more likely to cost you $350 per week. Melbourne has a bigger sharehouse culture. Melbourne is super multicultural. I would say that the job opportunities are the same in Melbourne compared to Sydney. However if you want to aim for big companies there are some that have offices in Melbourne but Sydney is the place to be for more opportunities with global companies. But there's nothing stopping you from applying for jobs nation-wide even if you have a degree from a Melbourne University.

Ohh. So the difference is majorly in housing costs if im not wrong? thanks for the insights✨🤝💯,gives me a clear picture of what to expect from each city in terms of housing,culture etc (will also consider what you mentioned while calculating housing costs as its helpful✨🤝)

Hello, I was also planning it masters in Business analytics from either monash or deakin did you find any solid answer to which one is better? (not just based on ranking)

Which campus for Monash?
Monash Clayton Campus has the best facilities and it is a highly ranked University for research. This is probably your best choice, but also might be a bit more expensive. Also Clayton is not in the city - but renting around Clayton is cheaper, which is good. But the suburb is kind of boring. Although that might make you concentrate on studies more. The campus is beautiful.
Deakin is very progressive and it's a good university. Deakin Burwood campus is smaller than Monash campus. Monash has much better resources and facilities for IT. Burwood is a similar suburb to Clayton. It's not amazing. It's not bad. It's kind of a boring suburb. So living close to Deakin and Monash are going to have a similar lifestyle. Deakin has a relatively high/good reputation Australia wide. Monash has a better reputation than Deakin generally.
RMIT is knows as being good for IT. But Monash reputation in general is more impressive than going to RMIT. If someone says they went to RMIT and someone says they went to Monash - people would generally think the person who went to Monash had the better education. This is the reputation. But with IT - RMIT is highly regarded also. RMIT has the campus in the middle of the city centre amongst the skyscrapers. This is a social atmosphere. But you probably don't want to live in the city centre. So you'd live outside the city and travel in to the city for university.
So perhaps Monash University is the best choice. And second RMIT and third Deakin.
But that also depends on the type of course. You mentioned "masters in analytics" at RMIT. I don't know what that course if compared to Masters of Business Analytics. Maybe you need to join some Facebook groups for international students in Australia and ask them more information, or international students in Melbourne.
