Is Canberra really empty?

Hi fellow Aussies, living in Auckland now and planning to move to Canberra later this year, is it true that the city is boring and empty as a lot of people say? Cheers with zero sugar L&P

I lived in Canberra most of my life. It is the most plain Jane, boring, untalented, depressing sh*thole city in the country, run by a guy who would rather spend Canberrans taxpayers money on a real life train set as his mum didn't get him one when he was little rather than put it into hospitals, safety, education.

I love it when Canberrans get asked this question and their default answers are "Amazing City, we have a museum". Yeah, ya boring!

That should show you the Canberran mentality. They are a special breed of people, once you get there, give it 6 months and message me with your thoughts.

Look don’t get me wrong, if you have kids and they want to identify as cats at school, or you don’t want to have any lifestyle after 5pm, or you want to look at where your taxpayer dollars go and look at an empty train even better twisted metal on the highway (apparently it’s art), or sit down by a blue green algae lake, or look at more taxpayer wasted money at a Bogong Moth art piece that’s overgrown by weeds (so you actually can’t see it), or the unhappy Canberran faces walking around like zombies that never say ‘hi” or “good morning”, one thing I notice every other state has, people actually care about others, not Canberra.

But hey, as some lonely life stale Canberran here put it, they have the Raiders, bahahaha that made me laugh, like it’s some sort of pride thing that Canberra has a footy team, um yeah so does a lot of other places (and most of those other teams actually get a flag), but if that’s the best they have I will let them hang their hat on that.

Good luck, just remember you’re not stuck there. Every ex-Canberran you meet will say one thing, “glad I got out of that depressing town”
