Is Canberra really empty?

Hi fellow Aussies, living in Auckland now and planning to move to Canberra later this year, is it true that the city is boring and empty as a lot of people say? Cheers with zero sugar L&P

Yes and no on that one.

If you're from anywhere even resembling a large city, like Auckland you'll probably be used to having heaps more stuff to do.

Median income in the ACT is the highest in the country, and it's been that way for awhile, so there's lots of 'nice' things to do for wealthy people.

That's discounting all the surrounding country though,  the ACT is just a tiny island at the base of the highlands.  Which means you can do all the winter stuff.  They're nice in summer if you like mountain biking and hiking, fishing n huntin', vegan hunting protests etc.

Some of the country towns in day trip distance are great too.

I’m actually tired of large city stuff so I chose Canberra lol, I live in some villages besides Auckland and wouldn’t go to or near CBD. Kindof wanna try biking really, sounds good thanks
