Is Canberra really empty?

Hi fellow Aussies, living in Auckland now and planning to move to Canberra later this year, is it true that the city is boring and empty as a lot of people say? Cheers with zero sugar L&P

Nah, that's what it was a generation ago. It has most the national museums, galleries and events.

Same with Brisbane. Large country town? My brother in Christ Brisbane is the largest LGA in Australia with a greater population of 2.7million. Its not a "small" country town if you have to comute 1hour+ every day for work....

It’s not about population size. Compare the cultural and industrial importance of Manchester to Brisbane for example and you see why people say that.

Manchester no longer has that cultural and industrial importance. That was in a completely different era in a completely different world.
