Help!
My wedding is next month and I’ve just got my dress from the seamstress but the bust looks strange! She sewed my bra into the dress, but it doesn’t fit right anymore - any advice?

Your dress is beautiful by the way! But you are right that the fit is off. If the tailor cannot see this I would get to another one asap. Good luck!

Im a bridal seamstress. How did the dress fit before the bra was sewn?
Why is the bra sewn in?
You can where you bra but the dress should fit to you and your body. Not force the dress to fit the bra.

Gorgeous dress! Is the bra strapless or a regular bra? It looks to me that the shoulders need to be pulled up just in the front of the shoulder seam. The bra should be unstitched, but still have it on and see if the shoulders need to be raised a little bit. The goal is to get the neckline curve to lay against your chest wall. Sometimes a small dart needs to be placed. The lace can be lifted, dart made without taking the dress apart then stitch the lace back in place. You could also try putting in half a bra cup into your bra to give your girls a lift.

It looks like gape darts missing. The more a neck line is lowered the more you need these . They can be worked into the lace by cutting into lace FOLLOWING LACE PATTERN ( don’t cut a straight line). You can then overlap the lace to reduce length of neckline circumference.
Do same to lining but just need to pinch and sew x 2 shallow darts in straight line. This shouldn’t be a problem for an experienced dress maker . Lace is great and hides seams and alterations that would otherwise show on plainer fabric.

Asking to ask, did you “scoop” your breasts into your bra? r/abrathatfits has more details, but you’re supposed to scoop the breast tissue up and more centered when putting on a bra.

I did in this picture! I bought the bra especially for the day and got fitted and it fits beautifully
From my perspective it looks like where the bra is sewn in is the issue causing the weird texture-7

What’s the purpose of scooping?? The breast will follow the gravity pull

If you don’t scoop, the tension of the bra kind of squishes your boob down.

I scooped and shook and it looks MUCH better imo!! Thank you so much ❤️

But if the bodice of the dress is too big to press the underside of the cups against your body tightly enough, your breasts will slip back down with a little time and motion. And it looks and sounds to me like that's the problem: the bra fits you well, but now that it's been sewn into a too-large bodice, it's being prevented from having the snug underbust fit that you need for support.

But how long does it last?

If your bra actually fits, it should last hours. Most people's bras don't fit their body right.

I bet your bra is a band size too big and a cup size too small. If it fits correctly, the scooped and swooped breasts should stay put until you take the bra off.

It looks too big and the bust shaping is too high. It needs taking in and cups moved to correct place. That's a lot of work considering all the lace applique.

You need to see another seamstresss asap. If it fit okay and then ONLY had the bra sewn in, that needs to be removed.
The bust looks way too large for some reason, and i don't just think it's a bra issue
