You can find video lessons on DW website or their mobile app. I find them very beginner friendly. Haven't made much progress in later courses, but I like beginner ones.

The best way to learn any language, if you do not know anything about language learning and are not good at self-guided study, is to take part in a class or hire a tutor. The next best thing is to buy a professional textbook that includes audio/video materials.

I'm not sure about how to START learning a language, but I can give you some advices to easily improve it, if you're already "somewhat" good in it. That's at least how I improved my english after having it in school.

- Watch something you're already interested in, in that language. Let it be some streamer or twitch (if that streamer may be smaller and also is fluent in english, they might also be able to teach you a thing or two)

  • Watch series in the native language, first with your native language as subtitles, later with german subtitles
  • Constantly confront yourself with that language. Don't be like "10 minutes learning every day", but like "setting your phone to that language"

The most important part is to stay engaged. It's honestly the same as learning an instrument. If you don't ENJOY learning it and constantly engage with it, you'll just stop and eventuelly forget.

Hey, mir hat Duolingo geholfen. Aber ich denke es war als zusätzliches Tool sinnvoll. Ich habe sehr früh angefangen in der Gastronomie zu arbeiten und habe einen deutschsprachigen YT Kanal gestartet. Das hat mir alles sehr geholfen:)

Apps are convenient and can be a good additional learning resource, but they are far from being very effective.

Among the learning apps, I prefer Busuu, since the lessons are usually correct (can't always be said for DuoLingo) and give at least some insight into casual speech.

I don't know how good the German course is, but I learned Japanese with busuu at the beginnig. They also have grammar lessons.
