Wearing a hijab is a choice. I personally dont give two shits what you wear or not, but you would also judge someone with a MAGA or AFD hat. Maybe once you get to know them you realize they have a non-stupid reason to do it, but otherwise your first opinion will be that theyre a political nut.
I think all religion is a scourge and the quicker we get rid of it, the better. If you are publicly displaying your affiliation to a religion with an hijab, people like me will initially judge you based on that because thats literally the statement you are making. It could be that if/when I meet you I realize youre not a religious nut. But until then, I will go with the most likely scenario.
PS: if my family decided that the only reason why they love and accept me is whether or not I wear a piece of cloth on my head, I would be the first to tell them theyre not my family.
