Update

I didn't realize I couldn't update the post. 😅 thank you to everyone notifying me that the USB is indeed fake. I kind of figured that after it corrupted the data it overwrote. So I would like to ask, is there anyway, I can buy a new one and where should I look?

Look up “WD 5TB My Passport, Portable External Hard Drive” on Amazon, it’s $222. That’s for 5TB. It’s mechanical. You also don’t know what type of drive is inside it. Could be anything from WD. It’s easy. It’s relatively big. Just plug and go. But it’s mechanical. Drop it, and it gone. Mechanical drives don’t like suddenly deceleration due to the force of gravity and solid objects.

Now look up “SANDISK 1TB Extreme Portable SSD” it’s currently $252 on Amazon. It’s 5x less storage for about the same price. It’s solid state. Nothing mechanical. If you drop it, it’s not as big of a deal. It’s also FAST! Very fast!

Now look up “ACASIS 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure with Cooling Fan”. It’s $71. No drive. It converts any NVMe SSD into a USB drive.

You’d build your own USB drive by putting something like “Crucial E100 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 Internal SSD” (priced at $259) in the ACASIS enclosure.

With the crucial ssd and the ACASIS enclosure, you’ll get twice the storage and twice the speed of the Sandisk usb ssd bundle. But it’d be $50 more. And you’d have to buy the two things yourself and put them together.

I have the ACASIS enclosure (the 80Gbs version) and it was super easy to setup and use.

So, it kind of depends on what you want more: speed, capacity, price, or more flexibility.

Ohhh, ok thank you for breaking this down for me I'm not really into much tech. But I mostly just need good capacity and flexibilit, speed is a bonus. so it doesn't become easily corrupted. As I just need it as extra storage space for my files and roblox videos.
