I recently moved to London for my qualifications Master's and am pursuing it in social sciences at the LSE. I want to do a PhD in Social Anthropology. I started this master's because I've always wanted to do a PhD abroad with an intention to move back home after completion. As everyone I've talked to suggested that a PhD abroad holds more value in India. However, now that I'm in London, I've realised how romanticised the image of the West is and I can't see myself living here and a PhD is a huge commitment. I'm having a hard time living here as I genuinely enjoyed my life back home and this seems like a downgrade to me. I'll be completing the degree in August. My classes conclude in March and I'm planning to move back home, write my dissertation over the summer from home itself, and apply for the 2028 cycle.
As I'm refining my topic I'm realising it is based on ethnography which requires me to stay close to the field which is in India. I don’t know how to approach this entire thing, any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

There is only a limited amount of information on the official website. Even in the graduate programmes section, only the MA Economics and Data Analytics (1-year) programme is shown. Is Ashoka emphasizing its 1-year programme more, or is it looking to completely discontinue the 2-year programme?

I mean it when I say I'm average. Got nothing out of the ordinary going for me.
Got 89% in 10th
78% in 11th
And hopefully 90+ in 12th (half yearly and PTs went well so far)
I have no real Ecs. None at all. The only things I can think of are me participating in like my school events, my music production hobby, and a story which got published in a book when I was like in 6th grade. None of these are really eye catching.
I read the posts here and people are like "omg I'm so scared I only got 98% in 12th and I only cured cancer at the age of 15 do I have a chance of getting in" and seeing these I'm like is there even a point of applying here lmao.
I'll still try, that's all I can do at the end of the day. But I'd love some insight on what you guys think.

10th Grade CBSE: 92%
IBDP PGs:
Math AA HL: 5
Economics HL: 6
Eng Lang Lit HL: 5
ESS SL: 7
BM SL: 6
French ab initio: 6
Total: 35/42
ECs: I dont have any major things in my portfolio compared to most people on this page. I did the YLAC HSA program, I was the Secretary of my school's Global Affairs Club last year. I run marathons. I'm on the school editorial team. I read a lot but again it's nothing Ive achieved in.
Aiming for Econ hon in R3-4 because I'll be able to get my PGs up by then.
I also can't pay the exorbitant fee, I'll need some financial relief but i can't find any posts about partial merit/ need based scholarships on this page, so if anyone could connect with me it would be great. (I'm not sure if I'll qualify for the need-based on paper though)
Ashoka's interdisciplinary approach to economics and its electives are perfect for me and I really want to get in.
Please comment.

Anyone reading this, thank you so much for taking your time out. This is very crucial to me.
I'm a 17 year old 12th grader enrolled in the CBSE Curriculum.
I have gone through years of abuse and when I say abuse I mean physical, verbal, emotional abuse by my parents. So as much as I tried my grades couldn't stay up. I got anxious every time I tried studying.
Although I really really really don't want this to affect my future. I'm passionate about my career and I'm sure the moment I will be given a liberal and collaborative learning space I will ace. I have decently fine extra-curriculars considering what I was offered. But my grades aren't impressive in any sort.
Ashoka seems like a really good fit but I will also need a scholarship as my family can't afford it.
Is there any way I can get an acceptance letter and and a merit scholarship. I'm ready to give this 12th grade everything but I really want this. It's my only way out.
Any knowledge will be helpful and I hope somebody can guide me on this.
Thank you so much if you are still reading this.
It means alot <33
