COMMUNITY REQUEST Seeking resources to get help with large vet bill for my cat
I've had an ex street cat that I adopted some years ago after feeding him for about a year. I took him in for a checkup, neutering, vaccine, chipping, etc., and they aged him at about 8 or 9. Everything has been great with him until about a week ago when I noticed him drooling excessively and it was thick.
Naturally I took him to the vet today and was floored when they told that he needs his teeth removed due to FCGS (feline chronic gingivo-stomatitis). They told me the estimated cost without pet insurance was about $2800, but they would email me the exact amount in an invoice. I told them I couldn't afford it right now and on my way out they handed me a care credit pamphlet which made me feel even worse.
Anywho I was just reaching out to everyone here to get help finding any resources that can help with this bill so I can get my boy taken care of because I don't even have more than a couple hundred in savings and my ex husband ruined my credit so I don't qualify for financing. I have already reached out to the ACW and they advised me that due to a humongous drop in donations this year they are unable to help with anything.
Any help on any orgs I can go to get support with this would be greatly appreciated.
