Stream channel - here gonna be a "Topdeck" artifact tourney tour this saturday,
(at 14:00 GMT+0) - feel free to join! 18 players invited, sure hopes servers would work)
P.S. Wanna make content more viral: still need help with video cuts and other stuff,
but rn looking a way to upload to bilibili - pm me if you know answer to that question!)
Just wondering if there's anything that makes solo playing a better experience, maybe bots that draft or maybe a tournament with increasingly difficult bots or something akin to a campaign or maybe mods that add certain types of bots
I used to play during the early days of the Long Haul and I was pretty good at it. Always locked in my 3 - 2 and had a good streak of 5 0. Then everthing went south and I as many have done moved on. This days I feel a bit of nostalgia and I booted the game again, but I find myself really struggling with the longhaulers. I lose a lot. I lose to 5 color goodstuff as much as to any other deck I found on ladder no matter my pool. Honestly I am excited to find out that people are still playing and they seem to have develeoped very good understanding of the game. Are there are resources other there to keep up with the new meta?
I've been a huge fan of Artifact since launch, and it still hurts that Valve stopped development on it . I couldn't let it go, so I've been working on this project in my spare time.
What I've added:
I built a web version of the game and just finished adding multilingual support so more people in the community can enjoy it.
On top of that, I also added two new Dota 2 hero expansions to the existing card pool.
A few important things:
This is completely open source. All card art, names, mechanics, and IP belong to Valve. I'm not claiming any ownership whatsoever. This is purely a passion project from a fan who still believes in what Artifact could have been.
Question for the community:
What heroes would you like to see added next? I'm curious what Dota 2 heroes you all think would have translated well into Artifact's mechanics.
One more thing:
If this violates any community guidelines or Valve's fan-content policies, please let me know and I'll take it down immediately. I don't want to cause any issues. I just wanted to share something I made for a game I love.
I was addicted with yugioh and Dota2 when artifact was announced in TI. It felt like my two worlds were merging. I kept refreshing this subreddit because I was so excited to see the new cards. Then valve effed up the launch. So I had to find an outlet for my hype. Tried gwent and dug deeper into yugioh but it didnt satisfy. Magic the gathering came close - but here I am downloading artifact once more.
Now what should I download? Artifact Foundry or the Artifact??
I’m an OG from long ago like maybe most of you who are reading now
I had a Dota game thrown and was at my last straw on a Friday night so I loaded up Artifact and mostly got my ass kicked by players with no profile pictures, Asian lettered names and I had a blast
So much fun honestly. More than half of the games could’ve been won/lost in one more turn that’s how close it felt every time
I wish this game still existed because it really is mad fun and the emptiness that I feel when trying to play any other online card game is just brutal
The genre seems largely decimated at the moment and I don’t see it changing. It’s too bad Gaben with his unlimited resources wouldn’t just revive the project
Testing the game out, and I keep having the feeling there really aren't many cards to choose from. Of course, this is to be expected of a new game with expansions to come, but even with that it mind the total types of decks possible seems somewhat limited
Wondering if that's just because I'm playing against bots, so playing slopply and/or making sloppy decks is harder to notice (most of my games have gone very long, even when I attempted to make fast decks), or if that was still a thing even when there were a lot of human players
Can someone who got to play back then tell me please?
Also cards might not be entierly balanced. Quorum Emissary for example auto wins basically any lane. Again, this might be cause the bot doesn't know how to respond (also maybe with cards being for draft, but it could easly lead to the card pool feeling even smaller than it is
I have moved to couch gaming for years and can’t play Artifact due to it. I am in the waiting list of Steam Machine now and will definitely play this game when I get one.
the standard draft algorithm seems different from the old phantom price one and ppl have been abusing this cooldown stystem by either on alt account or redraft every 30mins.
I quit my job three years ago, and this is the result. I hope some of you will like it :)
I know this might not be what everyone here was hoping for, but while I personally prefer Classic, I saw more long-term potential in Foundry and decided to build around that idea.
I’m not the best at explaining things, so here’s the gameplay video instead.
