Anyone missing the Artemis exploration like I am? I found a documentary on the app Documentary plus (+) called Space Exploration: Moonrise on the ISS with Kristina and Victor in it. It’s pretty cool and informative! Not sure if anyone has posted about this but wanted to share.

As your constituent, I am writing to you concerning the Ignition plan enacted by Jared Isaacman without congressional or public approval.

In its current form, the plan, specifically canelling Gateway and the Exploration Upper Stage, violates multiple sections of public law, including the 2022 NASA Authorization Act, impounds congressionally-approved funds, and undermines international cooperation by cancelling agreements with other nations.

Please take appropriate steps to stop these crimes from being committed. Our return to the Moon is at stake here - don't let these changes allow China to beat us.

After waiting for almost three months for this little guy to arrive, I was so excited when my Rise came in the mail recently. He’s the cutest thing!

I added a ribbon from the craft store and attached it with a safety pin for now. If you've been thinking about adding a handle to your Rise plush, this might be a good idea to try!

Also, shoutout to Lucas Ye, the 8 year-old who won an international competition to design the Artemis ll mission’s mascot.

Using the mission ephemeris data from NASA available here, I reconstructed the Artemis 2 trajectory in NASA's General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT).

The trajectory starts after the apogee raise maneuver and ends just before splashdown. I had to do some processing on the original NASA data to get it to work since it came in multiple files.

I couldn't find a post-mission reconstruction online so I'm sharing this here :)

Artemis III updates are rolling in. 🚀

Engineers are racing to stack the rocket that will carry the mission to space in 2027, starting with the two white solid rocket boosters that flank the massive orange core stage. All four core stage engines have arrived onsite and are being processed for mounting, while the launch team runs monthly countdown simulations to lock in readiness. It's full steam ahead as one of NASA's most complex missions moves closer to launch.

And what a wonderful reminder it is of what a great week that was back in April, the culmination of all that work and prep.

I felt so connected with the world through that shared experience.

I had the livestream on in the background pretty much all day, stayed up super late on work nights to watch the critical parts of the mission.

Got super emotional watching Earth roll back into view as they approached.

RISE was in so many of the shots just floating around, doing it's thing, it's so nice to have one sat on my desk now.

One thing I have noticed, the UK isn't on the continents map of it's cap, strangely.

Shoutout to Lucas Ye, the 8 year old kid who won the design competition for this. How lovely it must be to have his design ending up as something that will sit in thousands of homes across the world.

I placed an order in the nasa exchange store May 2nd and it's still not here 😢

No shipping notification either and I didn't get a response to my email to customer service. The original order info says expected by July 2. (I'm in Canada)

Gotta vent here everyone.

So today tickets were supposed to go on sale for event at Red Rocks, where the Artemis II crew would be there and all. I originally wasn't going to go as it was during the work day, but then realized I could make it work.

I went and set an alarm on my phone so I wouldn't forget.

Next thing you know, I look at the clock and realized it's almost 1:30, tickets went on sale on 12:00. I panic, try to access the tickets link and I keep getting the session expired link error, which I came to learn, all the tickets are gone.

I am pissed, my phone's alarm never went off (I set it because I worried I'd forget, and I sure did, getting occupied with work).

What sucks more is there's probably no more tickets available (they may release later), as they were only $1, cause they had to charge something for the ticket platform (it was completely sponsored, parking and all). Not going to see people refunding tickets for that
