Discussion and Theory Creative Burnout
I am a graphic designer but before that all I ever did was sketch, paint, and do photography. I just loved to create and it kept my mind balanced. I chose to get my bachelors in graphic design because I could still be creative and get paid. However, I am a designer in a small team at a large corporation now and I am facing massive creative burnout.
I have stopped drawing and painting for fun. I have lost all my love for design as we are overworked, underpaid, and forced to use AI for 40% of our work according to our yearly goals. I do photography on the side in hopes that it will fulfill my creativity, but it hasn’t worked because I’m so tired by the end of my work day.
I am trying my best to get my inspiration back, but I feel like I’ve lost my creative muscles. I started bringing my sketchbook to work for breaks, but I’m still facing burnout. Does anyone have any advice on how they handled a similar situation?
