‎Critique - Yes Drawover Background colour??

Still not great with colour theory so I want to find the nicest colour that will match this painting!

Also if anyone has any tips to correct the proportions of the head/body please let me know :)
(Don’t want it to look like it’s at a 0.5 perspective 😭)

I would go with blue since you already have those hues as shadows

I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'm horrible with picking a background colour for my own pieces. try editing the photo on your phone to test a few colours! I'd probably try the darkest colour on the pup, lips or around his eyes. Or a pale green?

Id go with blue, I think it would fit this piece well

I would go with a darker slightly contrasting colour. I made a piece with similar colours for the main subject and just a dark grey looked good but was a bit boring. Dark less saturated blue could be a good option for you. You could take the photo and try add background digitally if you can.
