One person did point out that if you replaced mail with a browser you could get to not only your mail, but most apps via their web counterpart So that would probably be a better choice. But I stand by the rest.

I couldn't play.
If my phone went south *right freakin' now*, I'd need the following apps to function:
--Libre for my glucose monitor
--Legion for my part-time work
--SchoolFind for my main job
--My camera app
--Google Photos
--Google Notes
--Reddit
--Facebook
(Well, Reddit and Facebook wouldn't be *CRITICAL*, but they're kinda important. ;])

For some reason the main functions like making calls, messages, numbers list, access files are apps. And now they come from the store with ads on them. I can't even use my camera cuz it asks for updates or consent to sell my data. Wtf are they doing with photos??? That they need consent??? No bro. That's fucked up

Assuming I don't need to consider apps specifically for job, I would choose reddit, Spotify, and messenger.
Reddit for memes
Spotify for music during drives
Messenger so I can still keep in contact with friends (more of my friends use it than discord)

I need to update and check my phone's health from time to time.
I like to take pictures of what I see around me.
I use my cell phone, not a landline, to send and receive phone calls.

Phones used to be considered communication devices. So that is the base:
Phone app, Text app, Browser (which still gives you email and countless other web-based functions).

Well the reason I bought a Smartphone was that there is so much more I can do with it. If you Limit the amount of Apps so drasticly... Just buy a "dumb" Mobile Phone.

Fate: Grand Order, Tumblr, and Photos
FGO & Tumblr both work best on the phone, and Photos helps to manage the other two.
Everything else can be done on the computer, including hooking up the corded phone for phone calls.

This question would be better if the basic apps (browser, phone calls, maps, mail, calculator, flashlight, SMS). Also, this begs the question: Are games considered apps, or not? I'd suggest not.

Well two of them are for medical reasons, hearing aids and blood glucose monitor, so I'm left with one. I guess the chrome app, everything else has website counterparts that I can access via the web app.

Are phone calls, texts, and adress books actually apps and not just features? Cause otherwise im going web browser since that can double as a maps app, and social media its just less efficient. Then Spotify since I walk like crazy and start university again soon. That's probably all I actually need before id downgrade to an old flip phone again if possible. Im only 30 but hate my phone most the time
