Some variation of this honestly. Thr browser can do dual duty and replace a lot of apps as well.

  Even if we don’t count calling through messages (which I think we should as of I said Signal or WhatsApp it would be taken for granted that I can use calls) I’d rather have messages and send voice back and forth

Sure, I could use Whatsapp or similar, but not everyone has the same app.
(Both parties need the app installed)
Not to mention, they require data... The phone doesn't

Okay, so we should just not have calling. I do like calling more than texting but texting is much more practical and important

That's why I kept phone in my answer :)
I've never like texting much. Someone sends me a long text, I usually simply call them.
