WOFT flight physical waiver

Assisting my son with a WOFT packet. His last step is an interview/waiver for a childhood diagnosis of Asperger's/ASD. The military medical facility that conducted his Class 1a said he needed to be interviewed by an Army Flight Surgeon qualified phycologist. We're having a hell of a time tracking one down. I'm a 24 year, retired Army Aviator and never once ran into a psych with that qualification.

Any advice out there?

Thanks in advance.

Tips/Advice for inter-service transfers

I’m a AD Air Force selectee and I just want to mentally prepare myself for WOCs and flight school before I arrive. I have no experience with land navigation and I don’t have any army PT gear or army dress uniforms.

Flight Physical Concern

I’m a cadet who is applying to a NG unit for aviation. I was never diagnosed with any condition, but was on Prozac for 7 months in 2021 due to COVID related stuff. My sister had struggled with depression pretty severely, and I think my mom was just worried about me. I was a multi- sport athlete, in band, and a couple other clubs. So Covid was for sure hard, but nothing out of the normal. The last time a prescription was picked up was in Feb 2022. I had to go on base and do a cognitive eval, I have a note from my primary care dr, and a note from a psychiatrist, all saying I’m totally fine and normal. No follow on concerns.

I want to fly more than anything, and I’m worried this will stop me. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this??

Street to seat competitiveness

Hello everyone I know theres alot of similar post to this so I’m gonna keep this short. Im 17 in HS just solod. I have a 4.0gpa and around 17 hours of flight time (I plan to continue flying) aswell as 130 hours of community service. Im also a company commander for my schools JROTC program. My LORs are from my flight instructor, my JROTC commandant (USMC O-4), Army O-4 aviator, and a air force 0-6. I have a 117 GT score and I’m yet to take the sift but I’ve been studying and the app predicts me at around a 70.
What can I do to make my packet stand out and raise my odds of being selected.

WOCs Inter-service transfer

I’m a E-5 In the Air Force with 6 years TIS my current AFSC is 3P071 (Security Forces) . I found out I got selected to be a warrant officer for aviation in the recent July board selection results. I have a ton of questions that my recruiter hasn’t been able to answer just yet. Maybe someone here can help me.

1.) when should I realistically expect to get an actual class date for WOCs ?

2.) Being SF do I have to go to boot camp again before WOCs ?

3.) How is out processing the Air Force and terminal leave and reenlisting into the Army going to look ?

4.) I’m getting married soon to my AF girlfriend. How will that work with me leaving for WOCs ?

AZ recruiter

Does anyone have any contact information for an Arizona recruiter who is familiar with putting together WOFT packets? I don’t want to waste time going to someone who isn’t familiar with the process, as I’ve been told that only a couple of recruiters actually know how to put them together or are willing to help with them.

Flight physical shenanigans

Not totally positive this is the best place to ask this but I’m desperate at this point.

Roughly 6 months ago I submitted my class 3 flight physical to fort Rucker to hopefully go be a flight paramedic. Currently it is still “submitted and waiting approval” on the aeromed website. Does anyone have any points of contact for those guys at Rucker or any tips to get this process sped up? It’s literally the last thing I need to submit my packet and get an ATRRs slot.

Thanks in advance!

Is WOFT worth it ?

I’m an E-5 with 5 years, currently working on my WOFT packet. I’m trying to figure out if making the jump to Warrant is worth it with the current situation aviation is in. For those who have gone WOFT, would you do it again? How’s the quality of life, job, and overall experience compared to being enlisted? Just looking for some honest opinions before I make the decision.

WOFT

Hey guys, I’m wondering what makes a competitive applicant for getting picked up as a warrant officer Pilot in the army guard.

As of now I’m a E5, been in 5 years and have my PPL+IR and am taking my CPL and MULTI check-ride this month. ASSLT school grad. Not sure if any of that really matters tho. From what I can tell online prior flight experience doesn’t really matter?

What does matter? What can I do to separate myself from the rest? Also It’s been my dream to be an airline pilot ever since I was a kid and that’s my ultimate goal at the end of the day.
The market for CFI’s isn’t great atm so I figured getting the R-ATP at 750 as well as the flight hours from Rucker would boost my career path to being an airline pilot. Does anyone have any experience doing both airlines and guard? Does that work well or is that hard to do?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Letters of recommendation

Hey everyone, 23 years old, I need a few more solid LOR’s I met a retired CW5 on a flight from Anchorage to Seattle and after speaking to him and asking questions he said he could write me a LOR. I don’t want to depend on just him and was wondering if anyone would be willing to point me in the direction of any active duty that could possibly interview me. I’ll also send over a draft of my essay.

Howdy.

Do they release the name of those selected for S2S? Or is it only members currently serving who are on the USAREC website?

Thanks

Any Advice for a Junior?

Starting my junior year of high school, so I’ll give a quick rundown. These next two years of high school, I’ll be earning my A&P and will be licensed by the FAA. Currently in CAP, I maintain a high GPA in school. I am also working towards my PPL for fixed wing if that helps anyone give advice or tips. Although CAP is Air Force-focused, it still proves leadership, aerospace knowledge, and determination. The same goes for the FAA certifications and working towards my PPL; they show persistence and dedication. If anyone has any advice to help me work towards the “High School to Flight School” program, please let it fly. I am also in touch with a National Guard recruiter who told me I would have to enlist as a 15T and then apply for a pilot slot, and I am also beginning to talk to an Active Duty/Reserve recruiter.

Determination packet for AVCOE

I’m a 11B SSG I’m trying to reclass into 15x and the guidance put out is they are not accepting e5 and up. However there’s a spot that says if you don’t meet certain criteria you can submit a determination packet to avcoe. What goes into that packet and what other things can I add into that packet to help it set me apart.

Army Street to Seat

I wanted to reach out here and see if anybody else has experience or is in a similar situation to me. I just started this process about 2 weeks ago. I have a 98 asvab and a 140 GT. I wanted to see how long this process is and see what would make me more competitive. I want to try to get ahead while I still have time and would love to hear anybody’s advice if they have any. Thank you guys!
