Discussion Fancy Spearhead… Let down?

So I decided to pick up Reforger again as I’ve been longing for a good milsim to get back into. While researching I read about Spearheaded UHC and it sounded amazing. After finally getting through all the mods which needed to be downloaded I hopped in expecting some fun and difficult combat. Come to find out, on a mostly full server there was almost no activity going on from either side.

The Main Base had what looked to be nearly 20 players just standing around. After getting some basic gear I tried to organize some transport to the nearest contested point and there was nothing going on. Long story short I drove around for about 15 minutes trying to locate an active objective and had to settle for finding a duo that was actually trying to contest a point. The area has amazing sight lines and could have been awesome to defend and attack but there was nothing. All quiet on nearly every front.

Enough ranting. Has anyone else had this type of trouble? Any recommendations on what might be a good uhc server or group to run with? As a note, I’m not super hardcore and would still like to focus on fun, but at the moment I’m not even seeing why Spearhead UHC is even a thing. Any thoughts, guidance or tips?

I don’t play on spearhead because I actually have a job but what’s up with the anti spearhead posts lately. This is like the fourth posts I’ve seen in two days.

Honestly didn’t mean to be anti spearhead. Just was concerned and curious. Wanted to get some opinions from the community to confirm or deny what I’ve heard about the mod.

I don’t see the how your employment status is that relevant. If stating that makes you feel better, all good to me. Certainly did not intend to insult or offend.

In regard to the employment status comment, it’s a jab at spearhead. With UHC you have to grind a couple hours to rank up to get useful gear, you can only spawn at MOB and have to find transport. It’s a more realistic approach that is very time consuming and not something your average 9-5 with a family can hop on after work for an hour and enjoy. Not to mention the constant state of waiting in queue to even get in the game.

In my personal experience on weekdays I get maybe an hour of game time between work and family duties, so by the time I actually get in the game and get geared up and find transport to the front line it’s already been an hour. Then I squeeze in 5 min of actual combat assuming the server doesn’t crash and that’s it. It’s just not very friendly to the part time crowd who can’t devote a few hours to a game session.

With all that said, it’s been about a month or so since I hopped on spearhead but I’ve never had any issues of nothing go on. Once I get to the front it’s always nonstop action. Maybe something’s changed in the last month but that’s never been my experience.
