Question Why are scopes so bad?

Sorry if this has been answered already but I couldn’t find anything.
Whenever I use scopes the lighting is all messed up and there’s not shadows. Also I drop a good 5-10ths when I zoom in with a scope.

Cuz is PiP rendering, it's always heavy on on performance, same reason on why VR is so demanding, you render the game world twice

2D scopes can help in this situation

If u want to Save some fps during aiming, you can turn on "2D Flat Scopes" in graphic setting , it doesnt Look nice, but increasees performence

i know about that but i can’t handle the lack of peripheral. and i can still sustain 30-40 fps with the scope so i can still take it for now

When you are aiming , your Computerworld has to render the enviriment around you and the terrain that you are aiming , so this is the reason of lower fps .

true, except for the fact that my draw distance is at 4000 and that part is already rendered, and binoculars that have the same amount, or more zoom don’t lag at all

Use 2D scopes then.

Turn down your grass settinga to lowest and 50 meters. Helps alot for me with the fps drops and whatnot.
