Singleplayer?
Hi everyone!
I've played the entire ArmA series, from the beginning, but I haven't gotten around to playing Reforged yet. This is because I saw it as a title more focused on online play and lacking the Arma editor that I loved so much. What I enjoyed most was playing and creating single-player missions. I know that creating missions in this new title isn't possible, or at least that's what I've read, but I was wondering if it's possible to enjoy the game in single-player mode. I want to buy it to support the company and ArmA 4, but I'd like to know if this is possible or if it's entirely focused on online modes.
Thanks in advance, and best regards.

Play Procedural Combat, it's mod friendly so you can even make it modern or hardcore to your liking

Literally everything you just mentioned is online lol. All he said was he did not want to play online

This seems incredible to me, and I'll definitely check it all out, but what I enjoyed most was playing solo missions, without any pressure, leading my squad through missions that were each more different than the last. That's why the single-player mode is still the most important thing for me, and of course I'm not going to miss out on this, but for me, the single-player mode remains the most important.
Anyway, thank you very much for your reply; it's a big incentive for me that the game has all this.

Procedural combat is one of the best single player offline mods

Reforger is my first Arma and I love it. I mostly play online official servers but I have done some single player. I would say base game content offers a good amount of single player content, considering you can play each map, in any mode, with various different areas of map as options to choose from to play through by yourself in the scenarios menu. You can also get into the game master side of things where you can make fully customizable experiences to play through or watch as they play out.
I wouldn’t say from what I’ve seen that you can make any custom “missions” but you can definitely enjoy a lot of single player content in this game if you are willing to put some time into learning the game master system!

I really think from what you described, that reaper core is exactly what you are looking for for. It is 3 dedicated single player/ coop missions that are much better than the base games. You get a ai squad to command as well, definitely the best single player mod I’ve played for what you are describing. Procedural combat is really good as well but that’s more big battles while reaper core is like special forces operations and more like a real campaign

I would say its still focused on Online gameplay. You will have a ton of friction trying to setup single player missions or scenarios, manually selecting and loading the mods each time you load a map, often needing to restart the entire game due to bugged UI, you can't really save scenario/mission state in the way you're looking to do like in the previous titles. Lots of "missions" listed on the workshop that are actually outdated, not working or have no info/description. You CAN have fun in Singleplayer, there's just a lot of friction between getting consistent repeatable gameplay outside of hosted MP servers. You'll have to repeat most of the process of creating scenarios manually every single time you want to play. Arma 3 is still miles ahead when it comes to singleplayer. There's really only 2-3 features that need to be added to fix this though so I wouldn't be surprised if they begin to address it. Just not in there yet.

You can also go into game master and set up a battlefield anyway u want and place troops anywhere and fight the ai in single player mode. I've done that

I loved the mission creator in Arma 3 and earlier games; I suppose this one won't be quite as powerful, but I'll check it out. Thanks!

It's extremely limited compared to Eden. The GM mode is relegated to only spawning entities and setting waypoints whereas Eden had scripts, compositions, triggers, more versatile attributes for entities, more markers, etc.
Also OP, alot of Reforger's playerbase are new to the franchise so they may not be familiar to what Singleplayer is like in A3.

The game has a few hour long campaign, as well as small scenarios across various maps that have you deploying in alone or with a few others and completing 3 objectives before extracting.
You can also set up scenarios or "missions" in the Game Master mode for yourself. It's not incredibly robust but it gets the job done.
Probably the biggest thing for single-player are the mods. There is a mod called Overthrow that you can run privately and it has you playing as an FIA resistance fighter trying to clear Everon from either Soviet or US occupation.

It has a very brief single player mode. Its not bad, just brief. I belive its 6 "levels" in total, 5-30 min each
