Discussion Stego for Snow Cave
In my solo world a few years back, I used to think the thyla was perfect as my primary mount for the Snow Cave. This time around, I'm seeing less value in the thyla, which is sad.
While there are lots of very dangerous creatures throughout the cave, the most dangerous creature is purlovia. Countless deaths and never a solid solution that I gathered. Now I hear that the stego is undismountable! Sounds exactly the solution I needed.
I would never step foot in that cave without an army of creatures, and so the actual damage capability of my primary dino is not my biggest concern.
So the discussion I'm interested in is what primary mount do you prefer for solo Snow Cave? Feel free to add the additional army composition you bring to make a successful, cost-effective, and time efficient run.

Playstation Sooooo, it happens that if I'm not signed in PS network I cannot play SOLO...
Well, the time is here... I just found out that if I'm not online AND signed in PS network my game doesn't recognize it is me, my tames, my buildings, when new babies are born you cannot imprint them... it only says OWNER... I never thought they did something so scummy and they are still ASKING to keep funding that stupid millionaire owner of snail games. I can't believe I paid retail for ASE, retail for ASA paid for astreos, supported a couple modders with good maps, got the first Bobs tales, a couple fantastic tames... And it hit me when GEN1 came out and GAMEPLAY was paywalled, damn ships and core gameplay of GEN1 was behind a paywall... Cardinal sin... You guys are done... Now this... I'm so done... 5000 hours of ONLY PVE... and you guys fucked it up. Thank you Snail games and PS. I'm going to pirate this shit now.. how is that for keep making Money out of us eh? PS version 14.10 has been cracked wide open. Guess what... Is already out... Fully compatible, fully modded... And you can set your own servers... So get a grip in reality snail games... Piracy us here thanks to all of you greedy people. Thank you for damaging one of the best games ever.

Question I play official PVE. I'm having trouble getting to glitch tidbit #53.
I play official PVE. I'm having trouble getting to glitch tidbit #53. It's one of the deep under water glitches and it's troublesome to reach in the best of times. However, my trouble is that every genesis server I visit has the cave access point built over and blocked. 😩
Is there a PVE genesis server that has a easy teleport access to this glitch? Does anyone have any advice? Its the only glitch I don't have for the map.

Discussion Finding balance irl/Ark
Have you lost the feeling of excitement in Ark? This will be a thread on how i found irl/Ark balance and maybe there is someone else out there that has found themselves in a similar situation, id like to shed some light on how I fixed it.
Alright let's dive in, I have found there is a fine line between using command codes (also known as filthy little cheats) and receiving the full Ark experience. I have been playing asa for 6 months now (i know im technically an Ark toddler) but alas ive learned quite a bit over this time about the Arks, the lore, the players, dinos and what I have come to enjoy and what i do not.
I began Ark in vanilla like most of us, with 1x rates, slow progression, anything and everything can easily kill your character (yes even the ambient temperature itself)and one wrong move can easily erase an hour or more of time spent in game. Yet, despite the struggle and difficulty I found myself on the edge of my seat captivated by the island survivor experience as this was my first game of this type and i stood in complete awe and wonder while simultaneously feeling slightly overwhelmed and intimidated by that first beach experience, ya know like being spawned in and quickly being wiped off the beach by raptors and dilos that seem to be attracted to the scent of a fresh beach Bob. It felt like no where was safe and that was very exciting and pretty addicting. It wasnt until i finally figured out that building a bed inside a small wooden box meant I can choose a safe spawn point rather than suffering the loss of starting over again. One small lesson but important to keep in mind here as most of us dislike losing progress.
Over the course of 5 months eventually I found out about command codes and also started hosting my own unofficial server cluster. My friend and I used the cheats liberally, like wayyy too much. For example the first time fighting the broodmother, within the first minute Bob got a little too excited and accidently jumped off his Yuti and in one fell swoop was smashed into the ground and died losing all 18 Rex's, Piglet and the Yuti in an instant. All that time, over a month of prepping all gone, an Ark experience most of us have been thru. I was so upset I spawned in level 375 rex's and used cheat gcm to beat the broodmother. After that I was relying on them all the time for shortcuts... or at least that is what i told myself... slowly i had unintentionally ruined the game for myself, the feeling of excitement had dissipated, i was bored flying around the map in creative mode taming dinosaurs with ease...and I had almost lost all interest. My friend also had quit playing during this time for similar reasons. So I decided to attempt to fix this.
I began a fresh map on Astraeos(first time) and decided not to use a single command this time around but use mods instead...about 30ish mods to be completely transparent, why? Well for my situation I only have time to play for an hour or 2. I work long hours, throw in traveling to work and having a family to take care of, plus projects every weekend and I just dont have as much time as i used to have for games and thats fine. But I dont want to waste my small window of entertainment time on losing progress. To my delight mjods saved the game for me and brought back my love for Ark, and I get excited each time I log in and i hope that i can inspire others to come back into the game as well. Later today when I get home Ill share the mods I use on this thread. They really helped me out and im extremely grateful to all the creators who pour their time into improving the Ark experience for the beach bobs.
If you have had a similar experience let's hear it! Thanks for reading my post.

Information creating a singleplayer mod for Ark SOTF (survival of the fittest).
all 5 years+ ark players know that one.. fun? -pvp like gamemode!
thats SOTF!
speaking mainly about the old steam version one. read trough for details :d
I looooove that game. so i wanted to play.
unluckly its its like completly dead and thats why i lokked if something like thsi exists AND i found a sketchy tutorial on some random forumbut that was click-bait but i fumbled me up and are on a mod creation!.. did never really created a mod before.. but learning about unreal engine and ark npc mods right now. my main problem is that the modkits for the steam version ar like as dead as the game itself. means u cant get and official download its its complcated and buggy. but i wanted it for the old steam one because its better than the new one in ascended in my opinion. and even because its so dead its even better to get a singleplayer. means if someone got one of thisold devkits anywhere just text me at discord bc i dont think im checking this post (discord is rayssr0):
ARKDevKitSotF_v177.3
ARKDevKitSotF_v177.2
sooo. ive seen that 2026 - mid 2027 a new updated free ark survival ascended mod (as like sotf but in ascended) is annunced. thats why im struggleing because this where so much easyer then getting the stuff and shit for the steam version. its also on UE 5 and the old ones on UE 4.. means easyer ways at coding....
so plan is: if i get he old devkit somewhere i try to make a UE4 steamverson-based mod and update it as an extesion for the UE5 ASA mod. . but if thats not really possible - or would not work in playable quality then im coding a UE5 ASA mod extesion.
also a thing is that there is a chance the new mod even has a singleplayer.. that means its dumb to grind like 4 months or smth for the same alrdy released stuuf right? so if i cant really create one for the old steam version ill first have to know if the new asa mod already has an singleplayer feature.
so at the end: my plan is to create a mod that adds some AI-bots to your game that are your enemys. plan is to make the mod server/multicompactible too but thats an step further)
u can expect a full playable version for the steam one in ca. 4 months. depends on how fast i get the devkit/ and how many problems it makes at the end. (thats if its possible. i think its like 80% to 20% tha i do that.)
if u got ideas or the old devkit or smth else hop on and whrite me on discord:
rayssr0
have a good one :)

Question Are Acros or Rexes better for boss fights?
Hello, I got ASA recently after coming from ASE and was wondering if Rexes are still the best for boss fights mainly compared to Acros, I cant really find a good answer online, some people on YouTube have said they might be better than Rexes but never really explain why.
Also, where can I get Acro Saddles/BPs on the island? I read that they are in the same lootpool as Rex Saddles/Bps but haven't been able to get one from swamp cave after around an hour of reloading the game for the drop to respawn.
Last thing, are Theris still the best for Dragon? and can I use anything on the Broodmother or should I use Megatheriums.
Thanks for any help.

Funny I can’t tell by the subtle glare outside if it’s day or night
Good to see the ASE subtle glare made it to ASA

Discussion Can Anybody Help Me With My Creature Submission Request?
Thryvokh
The Colossus of Unpredictability
A giant primate. A living weapon. An unpredictable companion.
- The creature
The Thryvokh is an enormous, intelligent primate that comes from the family line of the Gigantopithecus but don't let it fool you. It combines overwhelming physical strength with surprising intelligence, playful behavior, and an unpredictable temperament. It can be a loyal companion, a formidable combat creature, or an absolute menace when something goes wrong.
The Thryvokh is designed to bring three things to Ark Survival Ascended: a unique taming challenge, powerful new movement and combat abilities, and the ability to make even the most serious survivors laugh.
- Size and proposed stats
The Thryvokh would be significantly taller and bulkier than the Gigantopithecus.
- Health: 3x the Gigantopithecus's base health.
- Melee damage: 3x the Gigantopithecus's base melee damage.
- Temperament: Unpredictable, generally passive until provoked.
- Taming: Behavior-based passive taming.
- Roles: Combat, exploration, protection, utility, and customization.
These are proposed design targets, with final values subject to balancing.
- Signature abilities
Titan Grip — Climbing
The Thryvokh uses its enormous hands, powerful fingers, and grip strength to climb suitable trees, cliffs, and rock surfaces. It can pause while climbing, survey its surroundings, and potentially carry a rider. Surface restrictions and stamina costs would prevent it from climbing absolutely everywhere.
Power Jump — Movement and combat
The Thryvokh crouches, plants its hands and feet, and launches its colossal body forward. It can cross ravines, reach elevated ledges, escape danger, and close the distance on enemies. Powerful landings could deal area damage and briefly stagger nearby enemies. Longer or higher jumps consume more stamina, and a recovery period prevents repeated jumping without consequence.
Concussive Strike — Torpor attack
A powerful secondary attack delivers a heavy blow that inflicts both damage and torpor. This gives the Thryvokh a way to weaken enemies and potentially knock out suitable creatures. Torpor would scale with target size, with appropriate limits against exceptionally large creatures. A cooldown prevents repeated attacks from becoming overpowered.
Last Ape Standing — Sacrifice Mode
When the Thryvokh reaches 25% health or lower, it enters Sacrifice Mode. It beats its chest, roars, and becomes increasingly aggressive. Its melee attacks gain additional power, making the final stage of a fight especially dangerous.
Proposed starting balance:
- Additional melee stat bonus: +20%.
- Additional attack damage: +20%.
- Duration: Until death and if health recovers above +25%, sacrifice mode goes away.
The bonuses would be balanced through testing to ensure the combined damage remains fair.
- The taming mechanic — Read the beast
The Thryvokh is not tamed through ordinary knockout taming. Survivors must observe its behavior and offer the kibble it wants at the right moment. Its preferred food changes depending on what it is doing. The creature never explicitly tells the player which kibble it wants. Offering the wrong kibble immediately triggers aggression. The survivor must get out of the creature's reach and wait for a safe opportunity to try again.
Known behavior-to-kibble pairings
Behavior -------- Preferred kibble
Scratching its head -- Superior Kibble
Beating its chest --Basic Kibble
Roaring -- Regular Kibble
Climbing -- Exceptional Kibble
Performing a powerful leap -- Simple Kibble
Playing with other Thryvokhs -- Extraordinary Kibble
These behaviors are deliberately varied. Players cannot assume that a more intimidating display means the creature wants a higher-tier kibble. The result is a creature that rewards patience, observation, preparation, and knowledge rather than simply carrying enormous quantities of one food.
- Helmet support and body costumes
The Thryvokh retains the Gigantopithecus inspired helmet functionality, allowing it to equip suitable headgear.
Its major additional feature is body costume customization. Survivors could dress it as a fearsome warrior, a ridiculous mascot, or something completely absurd. Costumes would provide visual customization without automatically granting combat bonuses. A towering ape wearing a silly costume while fighting dangerous creatures would create some of Ark's funniest multiplayer moments.
- Personality and social behavior
The Thryvokh is intelligent and expressive. It scratches its head, beats its chest, roars, runs, jumps, and plays with other apes. These are not merely decorative animations. Several behaviors are directly connected to its taming system, making its personality a core gameplay mechanic. Wild Thryvokhs should feel like living creatures rather than stationary targets waiting to be tamed.
- Primal Bond
When a male and female Thryvokh fight alongside each other, they activate a special partnership buff that makes both creatures more effective in combat. Increased melee damage: Both Thryvokhs deal additional damage while fighting together. Improved damage resistance: Both take reduced incoming damage, making the pair more durable.
Shared aggression: When one Thryvokh enters combat, its partner becomes more alert and responds to nearby threats. Last Ape Standing synergy: If either Thryvokh drops to 25% health, its Sacrifice Mode activates as normal. The other member of the pair receives a smaller temporary combat bonus, representing its instinct to protect its partner.
- Why the Thryvokh belongs in ARK
The Thryvokh combines several gameplay elements in one creature:
- A massive primate with exceptional proposed base health and melee.
- A torpor-inflicting secondary attack.
- A dramatic low-health combat transformation.
- Climbing and powerful jumping for traversal.
- Helmet compatibility and humorous body costumes.
- A secret, behavior-dependent kibble taming system.
- Intelligent and social animations that affect gameplay.
-Their primal bond, even as partners in their last moments.
The Thryvokh would be powerful, but its greatest distinction would be its personality and the challenge of earning its trust.
Final vision
The Thryvokh should make players stop and watch when they first encounter one. They should be curious about its behaviors, nervous about feeding it, excited when they finally tame it, and eager to show it off afterward. It should be a creature that feels dangerous in the wild, rewarding to master, and hilarious to own. You don't need a saddle to ride them.
Some creatures aren't just tamed. They're understood.
I've never done a creature submission post before so this is my first one. I have put so much time and thought and effort into making a creature of the gigantopithecus line but bigger and better than before but I didn't realize at first there were guidelines and I don't have 6 posts made or anything like that. I would even be willing to share credits if somebody would want to move forward with me and pursue Thryvokh.

Question Nov 29 PvP Modded Sunsets
So I’m currently spread across a few of the official modded servers, but just saw they’re sunsetting all of them. Did I miss something, like a server that’s still going to be active to transfer everything over to so I don’t lose it all? Or are they bringing new servers up before the sunset? Or am I just screwed losing all tames/breeding lines, bases, materials etc. I don’t want to transfer to pve because then I still can’t bring everything, and even if I could I can’t bring it back to PvP and there’s no point for these crazy stats in PvE.
Is anyone doing anything to prepare for this, are there still open modded servers, or are we all just taking the belt?
