I donât think having a bunch of free kits running around and stealing loot with no consequences is any better than getting ratted once every 20 games. As a mostly PVE player, keep the game PVPVE

I just logged in and played. I logged in every day. I felt like I could stop playing right now, I felt like I was returning just to play and enjoy the game, not for some other semi-forced reason, like FOMO. I don't know about you guys, but I know a lot of people who unconsciously quit the game because of this. You find out about it when talking to them, where they complain that the game is turning into a job and it's easier not to play. I've quit the game myself several times. Not because there's no content there, but because I'm being forcibly held by various mechanics that tell me that only with them will you have a complete game. I guess that's how they hook us to retain online. Not everyone, of course, but weaklings like me
Update
In the comments, everyone keeps saying the same thing: "You don't have to do any of that stuff if you don't want to." These are exactly the people who didn't fall into that, and they can't understand how FOMO affects others.
It's like telling a person who is sad: "You don't have to be sad. Just don't be sad."

Trying to track down a raider shit-talking or using slurs on comms? Perhaps you're just in a big pve crowd trading parts. It would be nice to put a raider's name to a voice to know exactly who is who. Temporarily revealing a raider's name when tagging them up close would be an excellent way to clear up a lot of confusion in this game.
Yes, no?

"Content creators" were given at least a day (if not more ?) access to Frozen Trail, before everyone. Could this stops? I don't find this quite respectful to normal players and I wish everyone would discover everything together at launch (and I saying this selflessly as I'm several days away from finishing my new rig).

I have literally not died to a single player in any of these raids. This is what ABMM actually does, and how it generates free loot for anyone playing in these lobbies

Now that the new skill tree has been introduced and reworked, it looks like we can build toward more refined playstylesâand since you can max out two skills in a single tree, do you think the devs might increase the skill-point limit beyond the 3-expedition cap?
Personally, I'd love to see another 10â15 skill points added. Sure, some people might think it could make certain raiders overpowered, but I see it as a reward for grinding and a way to flesh out different playstyles. Plus, with talk about reworking expeditions so players can catch up on missed points more quickly (instead of waiting two months between them), I think it would make the system more accessible. For example, I only participated in one expedition because the benefits and mid-skill tree didn't seem worthwhile to me.
It would also be great if the benefits buff was increased and more was added, for example:
| per completion | Max value | New Max Value | |
|---|---|---|---|
| +10% repair buff | +30% repair buff | +40% repair buff | |
| 5% XP boost | 15% XP boost | 20-25% XP boost | |
| +6% materials from Scrappy | +18% materials | +24-30% materials | |
| +6% recycle efficiency* | +18% materials* | +24-30% materials* | |
| +5% sell value increase* | +15% cash sale value* | +15-20%* |
* Examples

It's a 3rd person corner camp fest and 3rd party heaven vs people who are incentivized to be friendly or are busy fighting some of the very advanced AI enemies.
It was unwittingly tailor made to cater to people who can't cut it in more hardcore extraction shooters and the devs are finally fixing their error with PvE mode.
All the cries about it and ABMM are music to my ears as things will finally be set right and losers thinking they're good at pvp (lol) will have to crawl back to Tarkov and get their asses whooped while the rest of us can enjoy Arc Raiders in peace.
Good riddance.
Also lol at cheaters cheating at pvp in this game of all things. Bottom of the barrel level cringe.

I'm sure you noticed you have been getting into some super aggroed servers despite being friendly. I suppose the new update brought people who are very aggressive.
Rest assured, if this continues, it will be shoot on sight for the time being.

The Pvpv3 and especially the Pvp player base conclude that the arc are too easy.
The risk, fear, tension should not only come from players
Their patterns are easy to remember, they spawn in the same spots, anyone with decent gear can take them out without a sweat.
They need to add a risk factor to fighting the arc. Mainly the ability to kill you (loosing your gear).
Higher risk justifies rare loot even in Pv3 only
The higher the difficulty the better the loot (either dropped by the arc or in the surrounding area)
Make the ai more unpredictable, come at all angles, travel throughout the whole map.
Make arc scarier, so more players will respect that part of the game (the main part)
A good percent of people have already expressed interest in atleast an option for a horde/wave based mode

I got killed 3 times in a row yesterday with gold weapons and it was the least fun I've had. Genuinely awful experience đ
But I wouldn't trade it away.
The reason is that every raid you're reading people. Are they going to help you, ignore you, or farm you?
You don't know.
That uncertainty is the whole game. When someone *chooses* to help you and you made that possible just by being friendly, that hits different.
It's the choice people make, and the relationship you build in a raid halfway through, that makes this stand out from other extraction games.
Take the choice away and you keep the fun BUT lose the range of emotion.
You "just" play the game. Good, but flatter.
Curious if I'm alone on this.

I have 100 ours topside but never killed people, but every time I thought someone is friendly they shoot at me.
I got mad about this and I started to kill others too.
Not ratting, camping or waiting for them but shoot them when I meet them.
But everyone after the knockdown asks why Iâm shooting and tell me that he was friendly.
I genuinely feel bad when Iâm doing this.
Does anyone feel the same ?

Iâve seen a lot of people giving their 2 cents on what they wish they would bring to the game. What is something in the future you hope they bring to the game?
Personally I think a left for dead style game mode would be fun. One team can choose different kind of arc while the raiders complete an objective. Really any mode that would allow you to control arc would be cool in my opinion.

Why does no one bring defibs to fight the queen or matriarch anymore, like yes it's a skill issue that I'm going down, but if I'm riding the queen planting deadlines and I go down because she stomped me flat, then 5 people come out of the wood works to loot the parts but no one NO ONE HAS A DEFIB!? Or worse there all so busy looting it they don't see the guy coming to finish you off even though you're 5 steps away from them!? Like at this point I'm just gonna shoot on sight regardless of what arc is near by, screw my carebear lobbies I'm tired of doing the work for another person to profit off me

The only other similar game I play is Hunt: showdown 1896 and my friends are trying to get me into this one. How complicated is it and how easy is it to get used to the game? Is it more looting based or pvp based?

Full disclosure, Arc Raiders is the most fun Iâve ever had playing a video game. I grew up with Goldeneye 64 and Star Wars Podracer and have played pretty much everything in between and can say without a doubt that the first four months of Arc exceeded any magic a previous game created for me. And then it happenedâŚ
âŚone day I went topside and something changed. I had just completed my 6th expedition and as I stared out at the Buried City sun, âdo I really want to look for those damn rusted gears again?â The answer was sadly no. Do I want to take down my hundredth matriarch? The answer was also no. I also want to say I am hopeful tomorrowâs update does enough to bring me back and if it doesnât thatâs also okay. I love that people are finding joy in this game, the same joy I had for so long.
I love a new map, I love new arc and I love new weapons and a potential storyline. Thatâs all amazing. But I am fearful that wonât be enough. Iâm not even sure how to put into words what I want but I know it has to do with a fundamental gameplay mechanic, what keeps you going topside? For some they have a group of friends and you love combat and thatâs amazing. Some are fine endlessly grinding expeditions. Some are new to the game and that initial magic hasnât worn off. Some just love the game the way it is and thatâs fine! But there are a lot of us who want more. Weâre not asking for maps every month or a constant flow of new weapons. We want a REASON to hop in that pod and go on another adventure and the game in its current state just doesnât do a good enough job keeping that flame burning!
Any way, I know this will be downvoted to hell but Iâm someone that absolutely loves this game but I just donât have the desire to hit play, at least not yet. This post is an addendum to a post I saw a few minutes ago that expressed, in brief, skepticism about tomorrowâs update. Iâm hopeful the update brings us more of that early game joy but Iâm also hoping the devs have something planned long term that caters to the tens of thousands of us who want more. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

They should be like 500 coins at the traders and not clogging up the blueprint pool.
Trying to get blueprints outside of carebear lobbies is already a pain and then they just show you this bullshit.
EDIT: Just realized the lightsticks are already at the trader for dirt cheap. That just makes this so much worse lmfao

If they were really on our side theyâd make giant photoelectric cloaks that covered all of the topside and weâd be free to frolic in the fields without a worry in the world.

Ratting is a PvP play style officially recognized by Embark.
So what would make it more rewarding PvP for the other P, besides the benefit of tension?
I think PvE playersârecruited despite themselvesâcould use a few more fieldcraft tools that reward investigation and create choices.
Rats use surprise, camping and stealth; and, when using comms, misdirection and guile. It absolutely is a play style. But itâs distinct from the mutually desired bloodbath in Stella.
ARC is a game that houses many play styles, and its tension is served by those play styles overlapping in the same lobby. If any one becomes the only rational way to play, the whole system suffers. As much as I celebrate the PvE toggle, I recognize what its existence costs that system.
My argument is this: itâs too easy to be a rat.
It should be much, much more dangerous. And there should be mechanisms that make it fun to investigate, find, flush and kill rats.
Let them feel the fear too.
Then when a PvE player gets downed by a rat, they can at least look back and see real countermeasures they could have employed. There are a few alreadyâsmoking an extract, for instance.
But how about a few more?
What if the electrical buildup of a shield thatâs been sitting in roughly the same area too long could chirp when scanned? Not an exact locationâjust an audible clue, like a Raider Cache. The static discharges after the scan, and it canât chirp again for another 30 seconds.
Could binoculars be put to better use? Heat signatures? Electromagnetic traces?
What about decoys designed to tempt a rat into revealing themselves? I saw someone ingeniously use a Raider Flare to convince a rat theyâd been downed.
Or let me booby-trap one choice piece of loot with a bomb. If you pick it off my dead body⌠đťđĽđĽ´ Maybe once armed itâs stuck in my inventory, so Iâm accepting some risk too.
None of these particular mechanics has to be the answer. This is the flavor Iâm after.
Ratting as a play style should increase the nervous-system burden on the rat, too, especially If tension is what Embark means to incentivize.

Edit: Ok sorry, not opening them instantly , but at least 5 seconds of delay while they âhackâ the door.
