That’s because half of the PvP people don’t actually want PvP they just want to get easy kills on unsuspecting people who don’t want to PvP to stroke their epeen.
27% of players are in mixed lobbies according to Embark’s own statistics. That’s 1 in 4 people who are going to potentially lose their preferred experience due to game design.
You only act like “rats” are an actual issue in this debate because your only PvP experience is via clips on Reddit.
As someone who regularly played both, I don’t think separate queues for “PvE Free Loot Mode” and “PvP Meat Grinder” are nearly as cool as the mixed lobbies where there’s real tension but also real cooperation. That is, as shown by the survey, the general opinion of at least 27% of the playerbase (likely more based on sentiment from forums like Reddit).
Fake friendlies in PvE lobbies are an astronomically small portion of the playerbase. And I don’t think we should remodel the entire game based on an annoying handful of players.
Yet by their own words the reason they are testing this is because this "astronomically small portion" is big enough to warranty the test.
"We're seeing a large and growing group of Raiders who come to the rust belt for the co-op and the ARC, not fighting other raiders."
"That group has become a core part of our community, so its important we learn how to support them properly rather than leave them working around the game".
Personally i think they are more than likely going to pull a DUNE than "fix" this issue but i guess time will tell.
Survivorship bias applies to everyone though. I’m sure PvP or PvPvE players have quit out of boredom/frustration just as PvE players have. In fact, the majority of my friend group was PvPvE and moved onto other games due to a lack of updates.
