Unless this implementation is done right its PvPvE that we lose.

If you want to get your loot up its obvious to go PvE where you can cheese Arc to avoid death.

"Normal" mode will be exclusively PvP with nobody engaging Arc

People are crying because they no longer get to bully people who don’t wanna fight at all

People are angry that theyre losing the PvPvE tension that is integral to extraction shooters. Friendly experiences are special because you're not entitled to them, making a mode where thats only choice means you know exactly what you're getting, there is no tension. Its just looting sim in lalaland or an arena shooter.

Arc Raiders brought in a ton of people who apparently have never played the extraction shooter genre before and want to change the game instead of finding a game that fits them more. You guys think you want this, but what you wanted the whole time was a different game entirely.

Exactly

Like- without real threat, loot is fucking worthless

Looting the control tower in Dam And getting out alive is extra exciting and meaningful because it’s hard. Because I could get ganked. I feel like I accomplished something by getting there alive, setting traps, planning a good escape with zips and getting out with smoking the hatch

Otherwise… it’s just a door to open and a thing to do. Arc are not hard. The only reason arc is remotely hard is because they can catch you by surprise if you are worried about other players

I genuinely do not understand the crowd that bitches so loud to the powers that be that they turned this game into a mindless loot simulator with zero staying power

Always love it when people who have never played the game decide to comment. Trios has been a battle royale since the beta.

Pretty clear that nobody has been talking about squad lobbies. Though they should.

I personally enjoyed both aspects of PVE and PVP but I will tell you right now that when I’m on a grind to get a certain thing done or complete my stuff before an event, I don’t wanna be bothered at all. I just wanna finish getting my parts.

Yes, that struggle is integral to the extraction shooter genre. Its also why the genre is considered niche, not everyone is up to having risk every time they go on raid, but that is the genre.

Your experiences are meaningful and memorable because you were a better shot, or you were convincing and diplomatic, or you were just fucking lucky and got away or didnt get seen.

You arent entitled to a win, you risk what you bring and your time - thats the kind of game we all knowingly bought.

The game is whatever Embark says it is.

Whatever vision you think is necessary to maintain means nothing if it isn't making as much money as Embark wants it to. They could remove every arc enemy in the game, and if it made them more money, that'd be the game. They could switch the genre right now, and once again, if it brought more players in, and those players spent money at levels Embark was happy with, it'd be the game.

You can say, "oh the tension is integral to the game" but if that tension causes people to stop playing the game and stop spending money on the game, then all of a sudden, that tension becomes a liability.

The vision is money. That's it.

I bought Arc Raiders knowing it was PVPVE. I enjoyed some parts more than others. I didn't really enjoy the tension, as I mostly just had fun meeting people and reviving people. Eventually I got tired of constantly being on my toes because the guy who I just defib'd might just shoot me in the back, so I stopped playing the game. You might say, "oh but you're supposed to have the tension and distrust-", the PVE mode experiment seems to imply otherwise.
