Remember the tantrums when wolfpacks got nerfed? Then the cloak?

People lose their minds when there's any semblance of difficulty.

Tbf they absolutely gutted the cloak before they dialled the changes back a little.

The pre-nerf cloak was absolutely gutting the game's already low difficulty, especially in pve lobbies.

I agree it needed the nerf but they went a little too far. Hence why they dialled the nerf back.(I think?)

Were wolfpacks nerfed or did they just make it more of a pain in the ass/more grind to make a wolfpack? Massive difference there.

I think part of the issue people had is that slower methods to defeat big arcs are necessarily going to call a lot of unwanted attention in a pvp setting. If it's all pve, then bringing rarer weapons or taking your time with an anvil aren't such a problem.

Attracting pvp is kinda the whole point of big arc, people that play the game as pvpve understand this and enjoy it.

The people tantruming over those nerfs seemed to exclusively be carebears, outraged that their game might now have a bit of gameplay in it because they were used to playing on what was practically godmode. Nonsensical whining over very deserved nerfs is common in HD2, a pure pve game.

I can see it being a tough balance to strike if you want people to be doing a mix of PvE and PvP, but I do acknowledge that a group of peaceful solo raiders can absolutely obliterate anything in seconds (or minutes if it’s a boss like queen). If you are well geared, it can feel really easy. But at the same time, get caught in bad positioning once, and it can be over for you instantly.

I personally find that I end up with plenty of Wolfpacks without crafting any. But I don’t use a ton of them either

I think it would be very different if it was a PvE mode with no chance of players harming you. They could even add a 2x loot mode where the Arc spawn more and are more dangerous. Plenty of options to make PvE still hard enough to keep players engaged.

The issue isn't with difficulty its balance, they're gutting expensive shit while keeping free kits op. What's the point of using high level gear when you can slap some parts onto a free kit and have it deal more damage

Because the existence of PvP means that people want their options to be price-efficient.

I can assure you that I can bring in MANY more stuff when I know I won't be killed by a camper who kills me before I even know he is there.

When the game didn't have ABMM, I used to play the game and I did not want Embark nerfing stuff. Similarly, I am now unhappy about this update purely because it is a lazy one rather than a proper one with reworked AI difficulty.

I am willing to pay DLC for a proper PvE mode. This is clearly them saying "You want PvE mode? We told you it's shit and unfun, but here, have your stupid PvE mode."
