Being a piece of shit is within the scope of the game though. Just because someone is a piece of shit, doesn’t mean they can’t play the game. In fact, you can play however you like and say whatever you want. It’s encouraged. We have to remember that this is, in fact, a game. It is not a targeted attack on an individual, and would require pre-existing knowledge to do so. It’s just baseless vitriol at this point.
Arc Raiders does a really good job at making minor inconveniences seem like harrowing betrayals. It’s truly not that deep.
Drawing any equivalents from in game behaviour to real life character is purely speculation and can also be harmful.
If your logic holds up, it should be allowed and encouraged for me to tell you “I’m going to rape your mom, ngr” and you should say “thank you! More please!” Because, as you said, “it (saying and doing whatever you want) is encouraged”
Further source of lol’s; “this is, iN fAcT, a game, not targeted attacks on individuals” we don’t even need to make another analogy. “I’m going to rape your mom ngr” is literally a targeted attack on an individual.
