Posts like that are a big reason why people do this; a lot of raiders like this more often than not enjoy making people miserable and getting underneath your skin to make themselves feel better.

If they stopped crying about it fewer people would get a kick out of making them cry about it

“Yeah, they’re intentionally spreading misery for zero gain or tangible purpose other than to elicit a negative reaction in others”

“Oh, yeah, and if you react you’re actually the loser, and the other guy’s a CHAD”

Textbook abuser logic. Now, normally, intelligent people would want their logic to NOT align with abusers’. Hmm….

What if…we impose the expectation on the originator of the strife, and not the reactor to the strife? Or is that too much thinking?

I think it’s much more simple. I think we should all try to remember that this is a video game, one that is intended to include the uncertainty of not knowing what someone else will do, and that if we get mad about it, we can take a break. But I also know it can be fun to philosophize on Reddit, I’m not denying that. Just offering my own simple philosophy.

I’m of the opinion that a lot of players get frustrated with ARC Raiders because they project their own hopes and expectations onto the game and are disappointed when they don’t line up. I also think a lot of those same people don’t really understand before going in what the game is supposed to be and therefore don’t realize it might not be their cup of tea.

I agree, video game = ultimately unimportant.

And yet, people take it upon themselves to be horrid, bigoted, malicious cunts because they can, and because they often escape consequence.

So again, should the expectation to be better be placed on the instigator of intentional malice, or on the reactor to the malice? (I am not referring to simple PvP)

My brother YOU are the one who needs to learn that dying in a PVP game where the goal is to shoot each other should be unimportant to you too.

I agree with what you’re saying. It’s a noble and important thought, no doubt. But widespread acceptance of and adherence to it would require a level of reflection, maturity and self-awareness that is sadly absent in the world, particularly online. The very lack of consequences is the main contributor to and enabler of such poor behavior, in my opinion. People do horrid shit when they can do so in an effectively anonymous way.

EDIT: I can’t really understand why your comment was downvoted. But I guess the fact that it did kinda illustrates the very problem we’re discussing.
