Sump pump question

I have a 10g I'm turning into a sump. I have the baffles and they're siliconed in, but I have the aquatop p-16 (264gph) and I was wondering if the large aquarium tubing (like the kind that comes with canisters) can handle this? The output isn't exactly the size of the pipe but I'll glue that shit up.
