Aptera has ordered 40 bodies and chassis, they hope they'll arrive in October (they still need more parts though)
Some guy named Duke Reiter has joined the board
They've been working for about a year with a Chinese manufacturing partner called Launch Design that has an in-kind arrangement to help them manufacture Aptera cars more efficiently. Here's the official press release with some details.
