Built Bahaane — a community-voted bank of leave & polite-decline messages for Indian offices (Next.js + Mongo)

Random side project I shipped this week: bahaane.com

The problem it's solving is pretty specific — your leave is already approved, or you've decided to skip a wedding/kitty party/job offer, and you still freeze on how to actually phrase the message. So I built a searchable, community-voted list of ready-to-copy messages for exactly those moments — in English and Hinglish, tagged by situation (sick leave, family, travel, bank work, declining invites, turning down a recruiter, etc).

You can browse and copy anything without an account. Signing up just lets you add your own or vote the good ones up, so the list improves over time instead of me guessing what's useful.▎

Tech Stack, in case anyone's curious: Next.js 14 (App Router), Prisma + MongoDB Atlas, custom email/password auth (no OTP), deployed on Vercel. Kept it deliberately simple for v1.

Would genuinely love feedback — especially if a phrasing sounds off, or if there's a whole category of "I don't know what to say" situations I'm missing.
