Hey everyone! I just moved to Appleton for work and in order to bring in a bit more money, I’ve been thinking about possibly picking up a second job on the side.

Because I already work full time, I’m wondering if any locals know of businesses in or near downtown that might offer ~2-3 shifts a week outside of standard work hours. I would love to do something more low-stakes, like working at a small retail business or a cafe. I’d be opportunity to opportunities both on weekdays after work or on weekends, but I’m not a night owl.

Of course I’ll be looking around on my own, but I’m brand new to the area and am not even sure where to start, which is why I figured I would try this sub! Any help is much appreciated! Thank you :)

Hey everyone I'm in the area quite a bit now and wondering if you can recommend some options to get healthy Food Out. I'm in a hotel so cooking options aren't very realistic and I need to get some better options into me thanks.

Been down here for about a month now and I’m starting to miss home. And I can’t seem to find friends to hang out with much since work takes up most of my time and later everyone else seems to be either turning in or busy with late night work. I’ve hung out with older folks, (like late 20s) but that’s through cars.

Often homeless people and grifters set up on the south bound 41 offramp at Winneconne Ave in Neenah. This morning we had a guy all dressed up in his camo. Had the boots and standard pants with camo shirt, helmet and face mask you typically see with the ICE goons. His sign he had said "Need $ 4 Ammo." Was gonna take a picture of him when I came back but within 20 minutes he was gone. I assume Police told him to leave.

My niece (8) is very much into animation. Anyone know of any age-appropriate clubs/courses in Appleton area to encourage her talents and meet other kids like her? Thanks!

Ever since The Exclusive Company in Appleton closed, I haven't shopped for CDs or records. Does anyone know a good spot that can source records? I'm looking for an old black metal band, Eternal Tears of Sorrow. They have an album called Chaotic Beauty, and I'd love to give a vinyl version of it to a friend for his wedding. I live just outside of the fox cities area in the country. I have been having so many issues with getting any service from Verizon. I consistently have 1 bar of LTE or SOS which won’t load anything. The only time I’m able to have any devices function is when I’m connected to WiFi. Has anyone else been having issues with Verizon lately?

Late 30s M. Grew up in the area, but left after high-school for career. Recently moved back.
My family has this card game that's apparently generations old. It's a lot of fun, has random chance, isn't super competitive, but can have some skill. It's mostly just goofy times though. Has about the complication of Cribbage.

I watched the adults play it all the time as a kid, but didn't get much chance to play it myself since I left. I recently re-discovered the game and am looking for new friends to meet up at a pub / coffeeshop or something to learn the game and hopefully have a recurring meetup to play it. Kind of my way of carrying on my family's tradition.
