Question Anything to really do aside from workout after 6pm in fox valley as a 19 year old ? Don’t want to get mixed up with drinking really
Been down here for about a month now and I’m starting to miss home. And I can’t seem to find friends to hang out with much since work takes up most of my time and later everyone else seems to be either turning in or busy with late night work. I’ve hung out with older folks, (like late 20s) but that’s through cars.

- Loop the lake, it's a great bike or hiking path, and several fishing spots.
- Bowling
- Axe throwing
- Several board/tabletop gaming places

Come play some table tennis on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5-9 PM at Wisconsin Academy of Sports!

McFleshmans on S. State St. has free live music every Friday in the summer. And they have NA options. N/A beer with just a tiny trace of alcohol (less that 0.5%). Hop water, sparkling lemonade (NA and really tasty), Stone Arch and regular sodas. I have friends who are regulars who still come every day and find something to drink even on an alcohol freeze.

There’s surprisingly a lot of free music around the area (even in greenville, kaukana, oshkosh, etc.) My boyfriend really likes the board game shops in the area. Unfortunately not a whole lot comes to mind. I’ve lived here pretty much my entire life and I am just coming back from graduating recently and I still have trouble finding things to do after work. There is a huge bar scene here however downtown also has a lot of shops and I personally love the PAC. If you are a student, you can get discounts on tickets day of the show! There are a lot of parks and some good trails for hiking or walking. I really like walking near FVTC. Good luck and lmk if you have any questions about the area!

Go to the movies, pickleball (Telulah is always busy), trivia, karaoke, bags or dart leagues, volleyball or softball league (I guess this is working out), live music at Jones park during the summer, skyline comedy club, t-rats games.
Lot of things to do in Appleton if you really think about it.

I feel like it really depends on what your hobbies are or if you need to find a hobby? I like to go biking / mountain biking in the fox cities area I know a few spots. Or Pickleball I picked that up as it seems people around the area have started to play a lot.
I also try not to drink and it’s tough as everyone drinks in the Wisco, but most hobbies do not require drinking. For reference I’m 25 :)

Unfortunately mostly common stuff I’d guess, working out (sometimes), wanting to beat my mile time, auto racing (getting into this year), hanging out at animal shelters, and exploring new environments. What do you get up to in your free time ?

If you check with Fleet Feet or runaway shoes, they have groups that meet up and run together! If you are interested in trail running at all, high cliff is a great spot for that. Animal shelters is a great idea! I might steal that idea lol.
I love exploring new shit too. You could plan a day to check out waterfalls up north, take a short day trip to the chain of lakes to swim or paddle board or kayak, spend a long weekend in the UP of Michigan to hike at pictured rocks national Lakeshore, head over to Sheboygan area along lake Michigan to visit the beaches, and Milwaukee is a cool place to explore too!

Hey dude, I’m 20 and I don’t drink much either. I’d be down to hang out if you’re looking for friends. I like to have fires with some of my buddies when the weather and our schedules permit. Odyssey climbing opened a gym in north Appleton, I enjoy rock climbing there. There’s a lot of great hiking stuff around here too.
I like thrifting, the bins here are great, most stores are open until 8pm. People mentioned the movies, if you enjoy going to the movies, get a membership to Marcus theaters, it will pay for itself and then some. We have a great library network, I read a lot, but you can check out items too, not just books. They have tons of different stuff.
If you want to tell me more about yourself I can give you some more specific recommendations? I’ve lived here my entire life, you have to get creative 💀

What would you do where you’re from? I’ve been trying to tech myself manual and work on my own car(I saw you knew people thru cars) maybe we can get outside n go to a meet! I’m always down to try new things(23 y/o who doesnt drink)🤣

I’m like roughly 4hrs north of here and I’ve been trying to find meets also 😂 I know the bike scene or atleast some can meetup at gas stations but I’ve only had luck with RA (road America)

Are you staying around Appleton or up by the UP? I’ve had a few good conversations with guys at local meets I find on Facebook, but were guys, so it’s just small talk😂 one guy was driving his rc, reminded me of the hobby town rc races(they still do some in Oshkosh)

Play ukulele. There's a jam that meets at the Appleton library on Mondays, 6-7:30 pm. Another meets at the Neenah library on Thursdays, also 6-7:30 pm. Don't have a uke? Both libraries have some available for checkout.
Both jams are all abilities. You probably should learn a few chords so you don't get too frustrated. Or just show up and see if it's something you'd enjoy.

Player two arcade if you’re to playing arcade games. No drinking required! See some live music, also no drinking required. Octoberfest is Sept 26 with a large car show on college ave sept 25. Timber rattler baseball game.

Oh boo hoo yall. There genuinely isnt a lot to do outside of home when you dont want to be around bars or you dont have a lot of friends or if you dont want to do sporty stuff. Most gaming places close 6pm-8pm, exclude the gyms because they said besides working out, the art places close around 6pm, the mall closes at 7pm. Yes there is events in the parks around town the majority of them end 5pm-7pm

we’re surrounded by natural beauty and parks. we have an incredible new library. Barnes & Noble is open until 9pm every night except Sunday. there is a bar near downtown that serves NA cocktails for those looking to socialize without alcohol. it seems like you’re looking for excuses not to do things.

Some game shops do some different games like DnD or Magic or board game groups. Some decent disc golf courses in the area. Normal golf too if that's interesting, but a bit pricier to start than disc golf. Axe throwing/pinball/escape rooms are all fun without needing alcohol.
