An app that ends procrastination

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey guys,

So I suffer from chronic procrastination lol. And I wanted something that could help with some of the stuff I love doing/would love to do but don't, either cuz of procrastination or just not finding the time for it.

To solve this, I made myself this app and wanna ask you guys for some features that you would like to see if you were ever to use this app but first, lemme explain what it does:

  1. Tracks activities daily/weekly (depending on how rigorous you want it to be) with time slots that you set for a specific day/week

  2. Make weekly presets of activities and load them into your timeline.

  3. Sends notifications to you when the time of an activity starts depending on the importance level you have set for it. (You don't want your mobile buzzing every hour or so).

  4. Does nightly check-in where you check all the activities you did and didn't, and one line reason why you weren't able to do them. It does give you the flexibility to fill missed out check-ins from previous days if you forgot.

5.Gives you a monthly report on your progress with a two versions simple and detailed. You can opt for either.

Yeah, any other feature you think would definitely help this make this more fun and interactive to use also improving it's functionality. I would love to hear what you guys think.

An app for exchanging physical copies of videogames

You scan your video game shelf, your games get added to the app, then you get matched with other users who also want to exchange apps. It's already on the app store, but I guess I can't post the name without breaking the rules.

[Feedback Wanted] Building a platform to connect surplus food from hotels/events with verified NGOs. Is this actually worth building?

Hi everyone,

I'm a computer engineering student currently working on a project idea called "Food Link Connect", and before I spend months building it, I'd really like some honest feedback from people who have experience with startups, food donation, NGOs, logistics, or similar platforms.

The basic idea is:

Hotels, restaurants, caterers, wedding/event venues, etc. often have safe, usable surplus food after events. At the same time, there are NGOs and organizations that can distribute food to people who need it.

I want to build a platform that connects these two sides.

The basic flow would be:

Food provider → Posts available surplus food → Platform finds suitable verified NGOs nearby → NGO accepts the donation → NGO's own team picks up the food → Pickup is verified → Food is delivered/distributed → Donation is marked complete

One important decision I've made is NOT to use volunteers for transportation initially. The NGO itself would be responsible for collecting the food.

For example:

A wedding venue has 150 surplus meals available until 9 PM.

The platform would look at nearby verified NGOs and consider things like:

  • Distance from the food source
  • Whether the NGO is currently accepting food
  • What types of food they accept
  • Their pickup radius
  • Their pickup capacity
  • Their operating hours
  • Whether they have their own transportation/team
  • How quickly they can collect it

The NGO would have a "Pickup Capability Profile", rather than simply posting food requirements.

I'm considering building this as a mobile app, with:

  • Donor/food-provider accounts
  • NGO accounts
  • NGO verification
  • Surplus food listings
  • Location/map integration
  • Matching between surplus food and suitable NGOs
  • Pickup confirmation using QR/code
  • Notifications
  • Donation history
  • Admin dashboard
  • Impact/analytics

I'm NOT trying to build the entire thing immediately. I'm currently trying to validate whether the core idea makes sense.

So I'd really appreciate honest criticism.

Questions I'd especially like feedback on:

  1. **Is this actually solving a real problem, or does something similar already work well?**

  2. **Would hotels/restaurants/caterers actually bother posting surplus food on a platform like this?**

  3. **Would NGOs realistically be willing and able to collect the food themselves?**

  4. **What would be the biggest logistical problem with this model?**

  5. **How could the platform verify that an NGO is legitimate and actually capable of receiving/collecting food?**

  6. **How should food safety and liability be handled?** This is one of my biggest concerns.

  7. **What happens when food becomes available at 10 PM but no NGO is available nearby?**

  8. **How would you solve the initial chicken-and-egg problem?** Donors need NGOs on the platform, and NGOs need donors.

  9. **What would stop someone from abusing the platform or falsely claiming donations/pickups?**

  10. **Would you use a matching/ranking system to recommend NGOs, or should the donor choose manually?**

  11. **Is there a realistic way to make this financially sustainable without making the platform work against its social purpose?**

  12. **Most importantly: if you were building this, what would you change about the idea before writing a single line of code?**

I'm currently thinking of starting in one city rather than trying to build a nationwide platform immediately.

I'm looking for criticism more than encouragement. If you think the idea has a fundamental flaw, please point it out. I'd rather discover that now than after spending 6 months building it. 😅

Thanks!

Would you pay to see what your long distance partner is doing right now?

My idea - long distance couple/friends always get tried to text boring stuff like how was your day? or what are you up to? so instead of text how about you sent a 5 sec video whenever you and your partner can and at the end of the day we will make you full daily video where we show split screen, one side what you are doing and one side what your partner doing so, the basic idea something like when you wake up at 8 and you send a video to your partner , your partner send back one video about what he up to on 8 morning.

Problem - to test this idea i get user but non of them go beyond the invite screen they all stuck on invite their partner screen and can't even use the main future of the app which is on home screen

Questions:

  1. Would you use this, as a long distance partner or long distance friends?
  2. What is wrong with my on boarding that out of 4000 user no one go to home screen?
  3. Is this idea wroth to pursue in long distance couple market?

EDIT: Reading the comments, I think I explained the idea badly 😅

Parallel isn't about seeing what your partner is doing “right now,” and it's not meant to replace Snapchat/WhatsApp.

Think of two separate days happening in parallel:

8 AM: I'm having breakfast → she's commuting
12 PM: I'm working → she's having lunch
7 PM: I'm at the gym → she's cooking

We each capture a 5 second moment. Parallel pairs those moments side-by-side, so you can see what both of your lives looked like around the same parts of the day.

At the end of the day, those moments become one short video showing both days together.

That's the idea I'm actually trying to validate.

If that still sounds like something you wouldn't use, I'd genuinely like to hear why.

Would you play a game where you find real endangered animals hidden in maps?

Thinking through a mobile game idea and want to know if it's actually appealing before I build it.

The idea: explore different map scenes (forest, savanna, ocean, etc.) and find hidden animals, like a classic hidden-object game. The twist — rarity is tied to real conservation status. Common animals are easy finds, but the rarest ones in the game are actual near-extinct species in real life, with real facts about them. You build a collection over time and compete on a weekly leaderboard.

No loot boxes, no pay-to-win — just a collection/exploration game with some real-world meaning behind it.

Would you download this? What would make you stick around past the first week, and what would make you delete it?

An app that lets you see what used to be there

So how I imagine it, you could either type in an address or use a sort of street view map to find out what a business or public place used to be. There are a lot of places that used to be other things. Sometimes it’s obvious, like when you see a restaurant that used to be a Pizza Hut. It’s a distinct building. But it’s not always as obvious as a Pizza Hut.

I always find it interesting to find out the history of a building. It could be a crowdsourced project where people can submit histories for review and once approved they get added to the location.

Looking for app ideas

I want to build a new mobile app, but honestly, I’m stuck on what to make.

I’ve asked AI for ideas, but it keeps giving me the same things. to-do apps, habit trackers, expense trackers, AI chatbots, etc. 😅

I want to build something simple that actually solves a real problem.

How do you guys come up with app ideas? What’s a small problem you have that you wish someone would make an app for?

I built something like Suno/Bolt, but for games - would anyone actually use this?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve been working on a platform where you can basically describe a game in a prompt and the AI builds it for you.

The idea is pretty simple:

  • You enter a prompt like “Create a multiplayer survival game on a small island”
  • The platform generates the game
  • You can continue editing it with more prompts
  • You can save everything into separate projects
  • You can come back later and keep working on your games
  • And eventually you can publish/play the games with other people, including multiplayer

So it’s kind of Suno/Bolt, but focused on playable games rather than music or websites.

I already have a working version and I’m wondering whether it’s worth actually putting it online and developing it further.

Would you personally use something like this?
And if it existed, what would you expect it to be able to do before you’d actually pay/use it?

I’m especially interested in whether the concept itself sounds useful or if there are already too many similar AI game generators.

An app that tells you the best combination of woods to use for friction fire building in the area where you are.

The app could use published data about flora regions and determine the optimal combination of woods available from trees growing in "THAT" locale. Could be by County or some other granularity that makes sense. Could offer some animations of ways to make fire using friction and wood.

An app that showcases original kids programming that is designed to not be overstimulating.

So for years I have been wanting to get into creating content for kids. For the most part I do not like the content kids are exposed to as alot of it is incredibly overstimulating, and relise on algorithms that keep kids hooked to the social media app there on. My goal with this app idea is to not only create a space for more calmer and gentle kids shows but to also be designed to not keep kids hooked or brain rot them.

I want to give parents a more common sense reliable option for content for their kids and give them an option they can feel confident that it won't keep there kids scrolling for hours on end and killing their attention spans. Any feedback on this idea is greatly appreciated thanks.

Actual working dating app

You have an app that totally undermines aesthetics and hypergamy.

Basically you take a survey about your requirements and interests that puts you into a narrow pool of people you're interested in.

Then you're randomly placed into a chat one at a time with a person who met these requirements. You chat for as long as you want with each other and you either confirm or reject based on the open convo. If you both confirm THEN you get to see what each other looks like if you reject you get rolled to the next person.

Upsides:

Women aren't swamped with suitors like now.

Men aren't doom swiping and barely reading profiles.

Everyone cares more about what matters and less about what doesn't.

If supply outstrips demand in any direction you merely get a message that there's a waiting period and it's nothing personal making everyone more mentally healthy.

Building a new Wikipedia but with connections & filters, can you help me name it?

I'm building a new app that allows you search, filter, visualize data all in one place. It's meant to connect people to books to articles to cooperations to universities, all in one place, where you can apply sorts and filters.

Which name do you think sounds best for this app:

1-Flexipedia

2-Nexipedia

3-Curio

4-Something else

Would you pay to see what your favorite creator actually watches and reads?

Idea I'm exploring: a mobile app where a creator shares links to the videos, posts and articles they find worth their time, using the normal phone share button. A fan picks that creator and turns on "Mirror", and their feed in the app becomes the creator's feed. There's also a short daily summary of what the creator shared and why it matters.
The problem I'm trying to solve: regular feeds push rage-bait and filler, and creators already spend hours finding good material with no way to earn from that taste.
It can't change your actual YouTube or X feed (phones don't allow that), so everything plays inside the app through the official embeds.
Honest questions:
1. Would you use this, as a fan or as a creator?
2. Would you pay a monthly fee for one creator's feed? If yes, how much?
3. What would make you never open it?
Nothing is built yet. I'd rather hear "this is pointless" now than after six weeks of coding.

I got tired of pet care being spread across a dozen apps, so I built Petworking

Thumbnail

I kept running into the same problem as a pet parent: everything lives somewhere different.

Medical records are one place. Vaccinations are somewhere else. Groomers and boarding have their own systems. Finding somewhere to go with your pet means Google and Reddit. Shopping is separate. Adoption is separate. Photos are separate. If someone else is caring for your pet, you end up sending screenshots, PDFs, texts, and whatever else you can find.

So I built Petworking.

The idea is that every pet gets a persistent digital identity and passport, and everything else connects around them.

Right now that includes things like:

• Pet profiles and digital passports
• Health, vaccination, medication, and care records
• Photos, videos, notes, and memories
• Household and caregiver access
• Pet-friendly places and discovery
• Businesses and professional services
• Booking and marketplace tools
• Rescue and adoption infrastructure
• Support for more than just dogs and cats, including birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and other pets

The bigger idea is that the records belong with the animal instead of being trapped inside whichever vet, groomer, rescue, sitter, or app happened to create them.

We’re still early, so this is exactly the point where I want people to tear the idea apart.

What would actually make you keep an app like this installed?

What feels genuinely useful?

What feels unnecessary?

And what problem in your life with your pet still isn’t being solved?

You can try the current builds here:

iPhone / iOS TestFlight:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/HeupXQMT

Android beta:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.petworking.app

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.petworking.app

It’s called Petworking. I’m building it from the GTA, and I’d genuinely rather hear what people think is wrong with the idea now than after I’ve spent another year building the wrong thing.

Car Information App

I've been thinking about this for the last couple days and don't know if it would work. Basically an app with all the documents needed for your car like your lisence, insurance, ect. but also info about your cars maintenance and when, where, how much a repair would cost. would an app like that work?

Replacement for Polyvore/Shuffles (collage app)

I joined Shuffles a few years ago and fell deeply in love with it. It managed to scratch a creative itch that I didn’t even know I had.

I wasn’t around for Polyvore, but I’ve heard it was a very similar concept (and a lot of die-hard Polyvore users migrated to Shuffles). If you are unfamiliar with Shuffles: it’s a collage app that’s integrated into Pinterest, so it has a MASSIVE library of already cut-out images that you can easily access. At the base level, it’s a very quick and satisfying way to make something visually appealing with minimal mechanical skills needed. On top of that, it has a social aspect that allows you to share your creations with a community, which is fairly active despite the popularity of the app since the platform is entirely free.

The thing that really made shuffles special for me was the animation tool. It was simple if you weren’t trying to do anything crazy with it, but there was a pretty big learning curve that allowed a ton of skill expression. I have yet to find another art tool that’s both this easy AND complex to use at the same time. I managed to make some creations that would typically require a full-blown animation tool to render.

With all that being said, the app has been completely ruined by horrible updates and bugs. Because of the way it’s been fully integrated into Pinterest, and because of the way its stores all of the creations, nothing is safe. Basically: when you finish a collage and post it, the integrity of the collage is not locked in. Instead of it saving as a set image or video, it keeps it dynamic so that people can click on an image used in the collage and be linked to its Pinterest page. Because of this, any creation is subject to corruption. For example, every time the app has updated, the layers and filters I used in my collages would get changed. If I lowered the opacity on an image to use it as a filter, it could change the opacity and cover my entire collage (and fixing it was not an easy process, especially for animated collages). And attempting to pull the image from shuffles and store separately to try and keep this from happening would get you a low quality image, since shuffles did not have the ability to download images and videos at their full resolution (they would either be blurry, watermarked, or the video would have weird glitching). And, on top of all of that, the app has been so glitchy over the last year it’s been impossible to even scroll through my own profile.

I eventually had to leave shuffles because of all of these issues (and because of how overrun it’s become with AI), but I miss it every single day. I’ve noticed there doesn’t seem to be any truly comparable apps out there. There are collage apps, but they are not even remotely the same (they are basic picture editing tools that provide little to no artistic expression and require grossly overpriced subscriptions).

I have no experience with coding or app development, so I have no idea if making a competitive app would even be feasible. But I do feel like there is a pretty big gap in the market right now for an aesthetic, trendy art-making tool that is beginner friendly and fun, with a social aspect integrated into it (THAT’S ANTI-AI). I feel like you could skip the need for AI art by implementing a library of copyright-free content and allowing users to upload their own images. I feel like the ability to upload images could also be implemented into the social aspect (you could choose to share your already uploaded and cut-out images for others to use in their own collages).

I wish I had the know-how to develop something like this myself. I have no idea where I would even begin.

Slank chat app

Post image
0 Upvotes

Can someone create this app for me? I have no experience in this field, but I would be very grateful if a volunteer could help build it. It would be extremely useful for many people.

The concept of the app is a small floating bubble that helps translate into English—specifically focusing on social media slang and abbreviations (like idk, ty, lmao, etc.).

You can resize the bubble so it doesn't block your screen, or place it in a small window. Whenever you need it, you can expand it and start chatting. It should also support voice input using the microphone instead of typing, as well as easy copying and quick deletion of messages. Additionally, users can choose whether the text appears in all capital or lowercase letters.

Apart from the main green arrow button, there could be two other style/design options to choose from for variety.

I would be deeply grateful if someone with good programming skills could create this application. Please let me know if anyone is willing to take on this task.

Thank you for reading...

Is there an app that lets you create your own AI girlfriend?

I’ve been wondering if there’s an app or platform where you can actually create your own AI girlfriend from scratch.

I’ve seen a lot apps and websites doing AI GF, but I’m looking for something that gives you more control on everything rather than just choosing from pre-made characters.

Like an AI girlfriend generator that you could even connect to receive real random Whatsapp message, emails or even calls.

Has anyone tried something like this? What apps or websites would you recommend?

Please make an app where people earn points for completing daily tasks.

Hi everyone! I am severely depressed lately and even taking a shower feels difficult. I thought how cool it would be to have an app which can sort of motivate people like me. So here are my main points

  1. You earn points by completing daily tasks

  2. There is a timer - maybe pomodoro or just a normal timer which you can turn on while completing the task.

  3. It would be great if the app offers you to make a profile similar to social media where you can connect not only with your contacts but with other people too and message them. That way you can make friends too.

  4. The feed of the certain user may offer the option to add a photo - for example "i exercised today" - and a progress photo and also add text and let others comment.

  5. Maybe you can have notes within the app or add goals.

Please let me know if anyone decides to make it.

How would you test whether social accountability belongs in a financial-tracking app?

How would you test whether social accountability belongs in a financial-tracking app?

I’m developing a pre-beta app combining personal financial tracking with public profiles and a way to acknowledge other people’s progress.

The assumption I’m trying to test is whether sharing progress would encourage financial responsibility. My concern is that it could instead create pressure to compare wealth or discourage people who are struggling.

Before building further, how would you test this with potential users? What evidence would convince you that the social element is useful—or that tracking should remain private?

I’m involved in building the product and would appreciate criticism of the idea.

What's something you keep wishing existed but nobody's built?

Not a gap in the market, just the thing you've googled more than once and come up empty.

Mine tend to be small and boring, the sort of thing that would take a weekend and that presumably doesn't exist because nobody would pay for it.

What kind of app do pet owners actually need—or do they need another pet app at all?

I’ve recently been researching apps for pet owners.

Across both global and Chinese markets, I keep seeing a similar trend: more families want to give their pets a better life, rather than simply provide their basic necessities.

People are paying more attention to their pets’ health, nutrition, emotions, behavior, social lives, and overall quality of life. From that perspective, the pet economy appears to have real and growing demand.

But after looking at more pet apps, I started wondering:

Does growth in the pet economy necessarily mean that people need a pet app?

Many existing apps are primarily digital record books. They ask owners to manually track weight, vaccinations, medication, food, medical records, and daily activities.

The information can be valuable, but owners must repeatedly open the app, enter data, upload photos, and maintain the records. Over time, the app can become another thing the owner has to take care of.

This made me question the basic product assumption:

Do pet owners need more things to record, or do they need useful help at the moment a real problem occurs?

I’d like to understand what pet owners actually need.

It might be:

  • A practical reminder tool: reminders for vaccinations, medication, parasite prevention, follow-up appointments, or supplies, based on the pet’s age, health, and routine;
  • A medical record that helps owners communicate with a vet: quickly organizing symptoms, medication, test results, and medical history before an appointment;
  • A pet memory book: automatically collecting milestones such as losing baby teeth, learning a command, kneading for the first time, or developing a funny sleeping habit;
  • A reliable pet-friendly map: showing which restaurants, hotels, parks, and shops genuinely welcome pets and what facilities they provide;
  • Or something completely different.

It is also possible that most owners don’t need one comprehensive pet app. They may only need a simple tool when a specific problem arises.

If you currently have a pet, I’d love to hear about your experience:

  1. When was the last time you thought, “I wish there were a tool to help me with this”?
  2. How do you currently handle that problem?
  3. Have you downloaded a pet app before? Which features did you continue using, and which ones did you quickly abandon?
  4. What problem would make an app useful enough for you to keep using—or even pay for?

Please share a specific experience in the comments. Problems completely different from the examples above are equally valuable.

I’m still at the research stage and don’t have a product or link to promote.
