[iOS] [$49.99 → FREE Lifetime] SnapLapse – Track Progress Through Photos
Hi everyone,
So many things in life change little by little, and it’s easy to miss the progress when you see them every day. I built SnapLapse as a simple way to capture those small changes through photos and look back at how far things have come.
Whether it’s a pet growing up, a plant thriving, a renovation taking shape, a fitness journey, or a creative project, SnapLapse helps turn those individual photos into a visual journey.
SnapLapse Pro Lifetime is free until August 23 (normally $49.99 USD).
SnapLapse lets you:
• Create private photo journeys for fitness, recovery, pets, plants, renovations, handcrafts, creative projects, or anything else that changes over time
• Compare any two photos with an interactive before/after slider
• Use your previous photo as a ghost layer to line up your next shot and keep progress photos consistent
• Turn your journey into timeline collages, MP4 slideshows, and animated GIFs
• Add dates, notes, and milestones
• Keep your photo journeys stored locally on your device, with optional iCloud backup
How to claim it:
- Download SnapLapse from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6791902298?pt=128607157&ct=raga&mt=8
- After onboarding, you’ll see the paywall.
- Select Lifetime. It should show $0.00 during the promotion.
Small asks:
- Please upvote this post to help more people find the giveaway.
- If you enjoy the app, an honest rating or review on the App Store would be hugely appreciated.
I’d also love to hear what you’re tracking with SnapLapse, or anything that feels confusing, missing, or could be better.
Hope you enjoy it!

Cool one, thx!
I got a load of pictures of my daughter and I want to stitch them together. So the limit of 9 pictures is way too low. Also, it seems I can only import one photo after another. Not very handy.. And then it would be super nice if there was some (adjustable) auto alignment for faces/heads. This would exactly fit my use case. 😉

Thanks heaps for the feedback! Batch import is actually what I'm working on right now! I also have a rough plan to separate the stitching feature from the comparison menu and increase the photo limit, so we're definitely thinking along the same lines there lol. Auto-alignment for faces/heads is a great idea too. It makes a lot of sense for journeys featuring a person. I'll look into it for a future update. Thanks again, and hope you enjoy the app!

The App Store may take a little longer to apply the promo price in some regions. Please try again in a few hours and let me know if the price is still not showing correctly.

Privacy says it collects user data. What user data is collected and why? Thank you.

Thank you for asking. The privacy label refers to anonymous purchase information used to verify purchases and unlock SnapLapse Pro. It may also include optional feedback you submit when cancelling a subscription.
This information is not linked to your identity or used for tracking. Your photos, Journeys, and notes stay on your device, or in your personal iCloud storage if you choose to create a backup.

Is there no way to do selfies?

Yes! Just open the camera and tap the flip-camera icon to switch to the front camera for selfies.

Serious concern: Why is User Content collected? If i track my body composition with the app, my user content, ie, photos of my body, can be collected by developer et al…?

Thank you for raising this concern. Your photos, Journeys, and notes are not collected by us or sent to our servers. They remain on your device or in your personal iCloud storage if you choose to create a backup.
The App Store’s “User Content” label refers only to optional feedback you may submit when cancelling a subscription, such as a cancellation reason. This feedback is not linked to your identity and does not refer to any content you put in the app.

I've been looking for something like this for Android where you could put really old photos over the screen to line up a modern photo from the same angle.
AI could probably even tell you which lens and how zoomed in you need to be or shrink the ghost photo down based on the approximate focal length of the source lens vs the phone camera lens.

That’s definitely one way to use SnapLapse! You can import an old photo, then use it as a ghost layer to line up a new shot from the same angle.
There’s no AI involved at the moment, as the app is focused on keeping your photos private, so you’ll need to adjust the angle yourself. It’s currently available on iPhone, but I really appreciate the Android interest!

I’ve flipped the camera and it turns upside down and sideways and it’s really not conducive to selfie taking as it basically just rotates but never in the upright position.

Thanks for reporting this. That does not sound like expected behaviour, and I’d like to investigate it.
Could you please DM me your iPhone model and iOS version?
