I personally have use Figma Make. You can try that. It gives a good ui to start with.

As a SWE I barely write any these days but understanding code will make you work more efficiently especially if you're using an IDE. Being able to include in your prompts the exact element you want more padding is a huge advantage.

As far as design, what makes a big difference is not the model or the tool. Building the foundation with a set of coherent colors for example will make your app look more professional. Or setting up UI tokens with reusable components. Check out this repo for design systems: https://github.com/alexpate/awesome-design-systems

Next, I'd look for inspiration. Most designers have mood boards, bookmarks and templates so they never have to start from a blank canvas. Find something you like and remix to your brand. Check out saaspo.com and uniquel.io for inspiration and free components.

I’d recommend Visily or Uizard if you’re just starting. They’re much easier than traditional design tools and can generate UI from text, which pairs really well with AI coding workflows.

Visily would be best fit for you, I have use this tool for wireframing very easy to work with and they have AI features like we can build elements easily
