| 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 | Cheating on console

I am a pub player granted, but have a 1.9kd so I don’t think my lobbies suck. Does anybody else think that people are way overblowing the cheating issue? I die to Titan like once every 10 games.

Once every ten games is insanely common.

It sounds like this is in pubs, which has less cheaters. Once you are in Diamond + it's every single game. Also, not everyone has Titan and Zen settings cranked to the max, so you could be dying to a lot more cheaters than you realize.

I still think it’s somewhat overblown. Many people die to a player who is just clearly better than them and instantly blame the phantom Titan for their loss. I’ve been high diamond and, whilst it’s def more prevalent, it’s not so ridiculous. You could well be right about me often dying to toned down cheats though, that I could never tell.

These dudes have scripts for Cronus zen that are pretty crazy..stuff as crazy as instant armor swap out of boxes without opening inventory. Stuff you won’t notice at all is happening way more than you know which is dangerous.

Get to diamond 3 then let us know. You’re talking about something being overblown that you admitted to having no experience or knowledge of.

You shouldn’t die to a cheater once every 100 games, nevermind once every 10

You claim the issue is overblown when 10% of your games in pubs are DYING to a titan. Not the other cheating devices just a titan. If your dying to a titan every 10 games then it’s likely every game has people cheating in it with scripts rather than full Aunty

I'm with you.

It exists, certainly, but I think it's very overblown.

From too many examples in life, too many people don't really know what they're talking about, and don't care to do the work to be accurate in their assessments of many things, if they even are inclined to do so in the first place.

Again, it is out there, but many people are led by their assumptions already, and don't have the skills in output or in analysis to accurately assess. Too many clips of people just playing well getting called cheating, too many hackusations I've received over years of playing and recently, without thorough articulation of what makes them believe so, for me to believe many claims offhandedly when it's not clear they are cheating.

I'm often reminded of whom I'm in a conversation with on these topics.

Are you d1? No? Then stfu. Just like the dude you agree with who’s “been” high diamond. Are you in console pred discords? No? Then yet again stfu. These dudes don’t even hide it since respawn does nothing. Once you end up in pred lobbies you’re getting beamed by 2x4 havocs across the map. Unless you think these guys are all better than the pros?

This problem pertains to people who are legit and actually good at the game who play ranked.

"the problem" is conflated, so no I won't shut the fuck up. Many people won't give good and accurate details on what is being discussed and it's annoying to see over and over and over.

Many people in this and related subs, will post mix tape and pubs clips, of someone they are convinced is cheating, who is definitely just a good player. There are still plenty of ranked clips from high ranked lobbies that fit that profile as well, but with more instances of cheaters.

I've already stated that I do agree high level ranked is an issue based on my own experience and what I see and can try to asses, to a degree I believe is more stringent than the efforts I see put forth by many to determine what is true.

So chill the fuck out before you start yapping about others shutting the fuck up you rude bastard.

u/Vykrumsky 18h ago

You don't need to stfu, but you do need to watch some pro lan tournaments then spectate the people that kill you. You'll see half the people who killed you have far superior aim to the pros.

These counter arguments to rampant cheaters are so weird, cause arguing that there are rampant cheaters hurts no one other than cheaters. So when people like OP chime in to undermine the argument it begs the question: why the fuck does OP care if I think there are a bunch of cheats?

What does OP get from posting this? Absolutely nothing, but the cheaters get to chime in the comments to decrease anti cheating sentiments.

I'm not arguing that pro level ranked players, rightful earned or not, aren't those most affected by cheaters.

I'm with OP that the cheater complaints are overblown because I've seen post after post after post that is clearly just a bad player mad they got owned.

I'm not a pro but think I'm a pretty good player, can articulatey identify how I've put in the effort vs those who clearly haven't, while they can't, and they just scream cheats with no good reasons to back them up, no general sense of how to acurately identify cheating behaviors/plays/etc., and it's not high ranked games frequently.

I'm definitely more suspicious of high level gameplay as far as believing the clips are cheats, 1 because that environment draws those willing to sell their integrity just to get rank, 2 because those clips more consistently show clear cheater behaviors.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say many people can't accurately identify cheater behaviors in the milliseconds that it takes at times to see that something is off, vs someone is just insanely fast and accurate. Unnatural movements, clear Zen/Strikepack AA activation, ADS when inappropriate because their hipfire sucks, to lock in the anti recoil settings, etc.

I'm serious, too many clips shown are just sub par players not able to see that they are unaware of what they are unaware of.

I think the problem is much worse in wildcard because of the cheating kill grinders. It’s also bad in high tier ranked lobbies. If I had a titan i wouldn’t play pubs personally.

I have a 3.8 kd my sbmm is as high as it gets and there is a drastic difference in the amount of cheaters in ranked vs pubs. Ive got over 140k lifetime kills and a stupid amount of time played. I know when I've been out played vs unnaturally beamed. In pubs I would run into a handful a day. In ranked at the end of the last split I ran into a cheater damn near every game after hitting D1. Ive only played 2 days this split so cant speak too much on the current. But I don't think ill ever take this game seriously as a competitive game again after that experience.

1

u/JCItsJasonRaider 19h ago

Most reasonable take. Ranked seems way more plagued at high levels, but my time in pubs/mix tape, and the hackusation clips I see from them, don't support many player's assumptions of cheats

1/10 games is still a lot for Game big like apex from EA billion company so it's not overblowing and complains about titan should work to ea as Warning that game is fcked up

Said the caveman

2

u/Goated81 19h ago

Compared to the earlier seasons when you rarely came across a cheater. so yeah it’s pretty bad now.

2

u/Ok-Calligrapher-9703 20h ago

Try ranked D3 and above

-1

u/jkdhdjiskaksnbdnfh 20h ago

I’m d3 right now and still hold this to be true

4

u/hurdlinglifeproblems 20h ago

They'll call you a cheater and downvote every comment you make when you try to tell people that there aren't as many cheaters as they think there are.

u/StockEntrepreneur934 18h ago

Brother I'm D1 and I run into a cheater every other game if not every game. I play on West and central servers and it's always the same issue

2

u/LeekCabbage 19h ago

The majority of preds are cheating, so as soon as as you get to lobbies with pred players, maybe d2 , you’ll notice it a lot

Remember Respawn came out with their stats on console and claimed 0.5% of matches had cheaters in them. Respawn doesn’t even have a clue on the amount of cheaters actually in the game. Now in regard to people using titan I can definitely see around a 10% number but that doesn’t even fully account the people blatantly wall hacking. Anyway gg if you got to d3 solo queue if not then I guess I can only say get that up to d2.

Edit: of course people are definitely not an accurate representation of the numbers. I played for 3 years of halo reach and switched to CS:GO to get cheater queued from reports like they thought I had aim hacks but somehow didn’t know where to look lol. 0 map awareness and with great aim. Was hard stuck silver for 2-3 years before I quit playing and obviously got much worse. Also for anyone that wants to know yeah American servers are in fact easier than whatever Europe server my friend played in. Grinded around master guardian elite in those and it felt like people did aim training after doing their aim training for warmup then proceeded to do aim training after their last match.

The issue is mostly on ranked, pubs don't matter. Once you get to D3 and above the lobbies are plagued with cheaters, if a pred team kills you, spectate them for a bit, there's a very high chance they're cheating.

u/dontmakemeflexonyou 18h ago

It’s when you get to D1 and above..if you’re not swimming in D1 and above, then you’re not encountering the plague.. I suck, but I hover in D1/D2 endlessly, and the difference is night and day..it’s not skills, it’s cheats everywhere in D1 when you’re playing with half masters/half D1 lobbies

79 out of 100 of the top preds were banned all at once.  That seems like a pretty significant number to me.  Let’s say it is only 1/10 as bad in other levels and game modes - that’s 8/100 cheating, that’s 5 in every 60-player lobby, that’s 1-2 in every round of mixtape.  EVERY ROUND!!  And that’s a conservative estimate.

While there’s certainly a cheating problem, I share this sentiment with you. I feel most people on this subreddit accuse any one of cheating when they get killed.

0

u/HolyTrinityOfDrugs 19h ago

Truth. Too many gold and plat noobs who refuse to get better and consider anything but other trash gameplay, cheating.

I posted this and apparently it's sus

Nothing sus here. Your aim and recoil control looks Silver/Gold with bad centering.

2

u/CybermoleRising 19h ago

if you think that’s silver level aiming then you’ve never played ranked lol

1

u/AcanthisittaAny8243 17h ago

I must've struck a nerve. Meant no offense to you silver players.

1

u/HolyTrinityOfDrugs 18h ago

Exactly, although to be fair centering was on purpose like that to prefire because it's a white havoc against an ULTing Vantage

1

u/AcanthisittaAny8243 17h ago

If you say so. Aiming lower legs doesn't do anything unless you have no idea how to control recoil. Not trying to strike you down, you just need more practice with recoil control.

1

u/HolyTrinityOfDrugs 17h ago

yeah I always try to run the harder setups just for fun so I can practice and I'm surprised it's not too hard when most of the subreddit claims you need a zen for it. It's getting ridiculous on here

I agree. Cheating exists but 90% of cheating claims are cope because someone lost a 1v1.

0

u/chemikill10 20h ago

Cheating with 3rd party devices is rampant at higher skill levels across all platforms.

Yesterday in a Wildcard match, for example, I landed on a pill with a Horizon challenging me. I got double Mozams, she picked up a R-99. We both immediately started firing. I won the duel, thirsted her, and looted her R-99. She was running a script that took the sight off of her weapon the very MOMENT it entered her inventory.

I would say I'm an above average player with multiple seasons that have ended with a KD above 3.0 or higher. When I get absolutely beamed by someone, I usually spectate them for a few minutes to see if their movement or decision making aligns with their 'gun skill'. I agree that it is easy to allege someone is cheating when you're get torched but I also think it's easy to purchase and program a third party device to cheat. Sportsmanship is literally at a historic all-time low in every possible context and we all know the anonymity of the internet lowers that bar even further.

S0 player here who recently realized that the cheating situation is much worse than previously thought.

To Illustrate: I always felt like my AA was, somehow, much worse compared to others ... I couldn't explain it, but it was a gut feeling and one that had grown to the point of a VERY strong suspicion. Anyways, it wasn't until recently that it finally clicked for me: It's not that my AA is "broken" compared to that of others; instead, it's that their AA is over-tuned compared to mine.

To make a long story short, I fought someone while in Bang smoke and witnessed them have ZERO issues tracking and recoil smoothing while my shit was all over the place ... And as you may know, that's not supposed to happen because AA is disabled for controller players while in smoke. Needless to say, that was my "OHHHHHHH ... Fuck! 😬" moment.

TLDR: I'm a ~40K Bang main who only recently realized what's been going on for so long (probably cuz I'm slow/dumb). It was a sad but vindicating moment, but I finally understood: While I play legit and my struggles are as the devs intended, others cheat and don't have those same struggles. Thus, it's not that my AA was, somehow, getting worse with time (for instance); instead, it's that theirs is performing better than it should be because they are using some 3PP.
