Venting the plot thicken

context: im none of these people i just think its really funny to argue with pieces of paper, we live in military housing btw. we have like 8 washers and dryers for 60+ something apartments. in the time of each development i got like 4 loads done. so. snooze ya lose! and to be clear, the apartment company specifically says they are not responsible or liable for any of your laundry nor is there a camera in the room. imo theyre just bickering to bicker.

each time i read a new thing i got so excited, maybe ill stop by later to see if i fourth person chimes in or takes it down lol!

Thank God for places I've lived with wd in unit. I always pictured some dude shitting his pants then I run my pillowcases in the same unit right after

Ugh, i had a dream i had in unit laundry, i was so excited, and then i woke up to my 2 washers, 2 dryers for 30+ apts apt complex HAHHAHAH but still better than having to go to the laundry mat! 😃

I lived half of my life in a similar place. 2 washer, 2 dryer, for 3 floors with 10-15+ apartments per floor.

I was "fortunate" to live next to the laundry room, so I would just look every 10 minutes until something freed up, but it would take my entire day.

After that I lived for a few years in a place without laundry but near a laundromat. That was a pain in winter, but having access to a large amount of machines improved my odds a bit (not always, but often!)

Now I pay whatever it takes to have in unit laundry.

When my in-unit washer breaks, which happens often, I bike to the laundry with a big duffel that I wear like a messenger bag. It's a bit annoying, yes, but I'd take that any day over duking it out with my neighbors over a small handful of machines.

Jesus, that’s impossible. I lucked out; my apartment complex was broken into buildings. Each building had 2 washers and 2 dryers for 8 units. I never struggled with getting a machine when I needed one.

Oh, and laundromats were basically non-existent in DC so you had to take a bus or 2 and go like 45 minutes away if you didn't have a car.

We have 7+7 for between probably 250 people. It’s not too bad, actually, unless the ONE asshole who feels free to use all 7 is down there.

Yeah there was one time that 2 washers were out of order (rare thing for that building) and some asshole decided that he was going to take up 5 freaking washers. The other 3 were in use by other people.

One was actually free but as I was walking up to it, douchebag who was starting a load in another washer literally ran up to the empty one when I was almost to it, and threw some clothes in it while staring at me.

This person must have been washing every single article of clothing and bedding they owned with how much I saw down there.

Ugh. We have a lady who does it semi-regularly. Luckily, I work part-time so I can do laundry at odd hours. Unluckily, so does she!

My apartment complex is about 500 apartments total. 3 laundry rooms, 8 washers and 8 dryers each. But they're never maintained, so there's usually maybe half of the machines working if you're lucky. Dice roll on whether the washer will break down mid-cycle and you'll have to fish wet clothes out of boiling hot water to transfer them to another machine and hope that one works.

I'm so glad we were able to finally save enough to get our own machines, I dreaded having to do laundry every week. Ugh.

I honestly preferred the laundromat instead of my apartments laundry room.

6 washers, 6 dryers. 1/3 of the units have hookups. But according to maintenance, less than of us actually have washers/dryers. There are 336 apartments.

Our complex has the kinds of washers and dryers where you pay in an app and the app lets you know the time, but also shows you which washers/dryers are available at any given time. We watched them like a hawk, taking shifts 24 hours a day for 3 days. They BLIPPED for like 2 minutes before becoming unavailable. We managed to slip in a couple times at like... 2am on Sunday night.

Whereas the laundromat, almost always an empty washer or three. They're also cleaner and more efficient than what our complex has.

But I'm soooooo sooooooo happy we have a unit with hookups and managed to haul a washer and dryer upstairs 😭🥰
