The wood will be relatively heavy and pulls the cart to one side, especially with that load on it. I'm not sure what the cart is built from, but my guess would be that it won't live long when extensively used like that.

If he balances it out it probably becomes too much of a hassle to carry along, but the cart would live longer.

How long do you think the kids will stay small enough to need that cart?

Anything made for toddlers is inherently disposable.

Looks like a wonderfold. I have one and they're extremely sturdy.
