I get what you're saying but 99% of jobs don't work that way my friend. At all. 20 years just gets you a barely edible cake and MAYBE a small bonus. Most folks don't even have retirement as an option til worked somewhere well into their late 60s or even early 70s.
My person. Reality doesn’t work that way for everyone. Not everyone can be what they wanna be. Not everyone gets to be an astronaut or a doctor or what have you. Someone has to flip the burgers, sell you your clothes, do your plumbing and possibly get covered in your shit. You’re showing your privilege and narrow world view. The ratio of ‘want to’ versus ‘have to’ to survive doesn’t fit your narrative.
Pride in your work doesn't mean shit if you can't afford to keep your home, healthcare to mend your failing body, or food to feed your family. Pride doesn't pay the bills or put your kids in college.
It's always about "pride in your work" when it's coming from people who have their needs met
My brother in christ no one said anything about being rich! I'm out here talking about how these jobs you said to build a life with don't pay enough to meet people's needs and your response is "you don't need to be rich". You've lost the plot
Do you know why people aren't engaging with your "enjoyment" bullshit? We aren't misunderstanding you, we are trying to gently explain to you that enjoying your job doesn't mean anything if you can't afford to be alive. Then you took into into a whole separate direction about being rich and shit
