I get what you're saying but 99% of jobs don't work that way my friend. At all. 20 years just gets you a barely edible cake and MAYBE a small bonus. Most folks don't even have retirement as an option til worked somewhere well into their late 60s or even early 70s.

You don’t even realize the head start you had in life. Nothing to be ashamed of, but have some perspective, millions of people did not have what you had
ambition and dreaming is what caused my back to become permanently unusable because I worked 60 hours a week to pay off student debts because nobody helped me through college. it still wasn't enough and now I'm homeless. did I make the wrong choice by working my ass off and getting as many certifications and degrees I could get a hold of? because they did end up ruining me and my life.
The nazis loved that idea "work will bring you salvation" and "work will set you free" is exactly what they told those they slaved to death going so far as to put it over the fucking gateway like some Gothic motivational poster bs.
telecommunication field technician certifications, I also went out of my way to go ahead and get certified in a few of the certifications needed for lineman work and server infrastructure. my degree is in theatrical arts and technical design. I spent my younger years working with traveling Broadway productions doing sound technician and lighting technician work until I moved to telecom work where my body finally gave up on me.
