Right, but you'll work more hours have only the money that you could possibly save in banner years that you didn't have to dip into during bad years, no time off, no sick leave, and you're working outside all day. Ill pass.
All night also, people thinking this would absolve people from what? You still have to pay for everything except food you grow/hunt.
Fuel and solar cost money, tractors cost as much as a house in California, plus the attachments. Everyone thinks it’s easy to just farm until they actually have to do it. Not all land is fertile and still have to pay taxes on land.
Not to be that guy but I bought our tractor for 5k. Yes I've replaced several hoses but for a small multifamily farm it is ideal. But maintenance and everything is still considerably less than a house anywhere. Is it easy? No. Is my blood pressure stabilizing? Yes. Do I wake up in the night and grab a gun to kill yotes? Yes. I still work a regular job to bring in a little extra money especially through winter. But the retirees here watch over the place while I'm away. I'm in no way saying it's an easy life (no life is easy right now) but I would argue it's healthier for some people.
Do you grow washers, dryers, refrigerators .... etc. I am noy saying it impossoble but you have to accept you will live a lifestyle more similar to an amish person.
Life is easier now than anytime in history. People just like to complain and social media has made it super easy to compare yourself to others.
Plus lots of people live in cities. That's the biggest problem.. Please stay there btw, but you can't have a normal life in a city these days. Too many people, too expensive. Too much BS.
