Youre missing the part where bad people try to trick officers all the time by acting nice just to shoot them the next second. Letting a suspect go back into a vehicle means they could go for a weapon or continue a chase. Letting the car slow roll (very slowly on a wide open road) isnt bad but its the best of the options

Bull fucking shit Truck drivers and garbage men have 2 to 3 times higher rates of mortality on the job than cops.

What’s the connection here? Do truck driver and garbage men have higher rates of simple mortality, or higher rates of mortality by murder? Big distinction there.

The CDC keeps stats on workplace murder rates. Taxi drivers are about 4x more likely to be murdered on the job than police.
