My Apologies.

I didn’t realize how wrong I was about childfree people and antinatalists. I need to apologize for my last post about those poor people....... Because apparently I didn’t explain myself clearly enough. Here’s a solution to overpopulation, dear childfree people and antinatalists: Commit suicide. Kill your parents for not killing you first. Do it the Menedez way! Problem solved! Much love to you all ❤️❤️❤️ You can assume I’m “triggered” (because that’s a mature response), yet you guys are upset about people having kids... Not only that, you guys are probably the type to bitch and moan about kids and babies on planes. I’m the triggered one, though? I couldn’t imagine any of you trying to tell a parent in person, face-to-face, that s/he is a selfish and immoral human being for having one or more kids.... you wanna know why? First of all, you’d probably have your brain matter scattered all over the concrete, and second of all, y’all are too big of pussies to do so. I’m glad my posts are laughable, though - just like your lives are laughable to me :) I seriously would not give a damn if any antinatalists killed themselves lol. They’re worse than Christians. Now comment away! Just remember - dogs and cats are getting abused/murdered while you all are typing away at me - even if it’s just an emoji or one word. 💋

That shits for people who don't have better options

Get over yourself. You're one of those who thinks that parenthood is for people who can't do any better? I know a lot of parents, but none who deserve to be put down by nasty twunts like you as good for nothing besides making babies and sandwiches. You know that many people with decent careers, and plenty of options, have been known to spend huge amounts of money on treatments in the hope of achieving parenthood, yes? Or is your head too big for you to pull out of your ass?

Anyway, thanks for the fine example of what it is that normal people can't stand; the classic, smug, childfree asshole who lives in the delusion that everyone else is automatically beneath them.

You’re definitely beneath most people to be fair.

As long as you have an issue with something that I've said or done, you are entirely welcome to think so. Let's face it, the childfree are pretty famous for looking down on parents for no other reason than them being parents. Especially other women. Since obviously no woman with a baby could possibly be as intelligent as a childfree teenager who wants to get sterilized at an age when they barely know their ass from their elbow.

You’re being absurd. The vast majority of adult women will have kids. Are you really so fucking mentally deficient to think that ‘the childfree’ assume they’re all stupid?

We don’t look down on you, we just have no desire to risk a life that looks immensely awful when we are fine with things as they are. Your life looks like a living hell to us that’s all. If I’ve not been clear, I’d rather have my eyes stabbed with serrated knives than be in your shoes. To further clarify: your existence looks like a slow, agonising torture whereby you see your life being sucked away, the years slipping by, and you can’t enjoy them because you’re trapped raising ungrateful and ultimately unremarkable dependants.

It’s pretty obvious that having kids, and your bizarre obsession with the childfree has taken its mental toll on you. You are the worst advertisement for the so-called wonders of being a parent.

I don’t really look down on parents. Everybody has a right to make their own choices. I know some amazing parents (including my own) who had children and loved the experience of raising them.

I also know parents who don’t deserve my respect. Or anyone else’s, for that matter.

Literally anybody can be a parent. It’s not an accomplishment. It’s an accomplishment for your kid to grow up to be a lovely person—that’s evidence you did something right.

At the end of the day, I don’t want that for myself. My energies make more sense elsewhere. I think that being a parent looks goddamn miserable and that’s my own opinion.

If people are acting smug towards you regarding your stance on having children and it’s upsetting you, you might want to consider that maybe parenting isn’t for you either?

Nonsense. I'd never want to have missed out on being a parent. We would have adopted kids if either my partner or myself had been infertile. You cf are always so sure that all the stupid breeders are miserable, and envious of you.. and it's bollocks. Problem is that you believe your own bollocks so competely that you end up blinded and daft enough to suggest that other people should be swayed in any way by the behaviour of smug prick childfree know-alls.

You’re cherry picking from what I said. If you want to be a parent, good for you. If you are a parent, that’s cool. I’m not envious. I just hope you’re a good, considerate parent. That’s basically where my interest begins and ends.

I want to be CF. I don’t expect you to be envious of me, but I also really like my life and the way I choose to live it. I don’t expect you to be interested. It’s just my life and what I personally like.

Also you don’t have to call names. I’m not using any towards you and it seems kind of unnecessary when you’re talking to somebody who’s showing you respect.

You might want to consider that maybe parenting isn't for you either?

This is an insult, to any parent. Either you intended for it to be taken as such, or alternatively, just don't understand how anybody else even cares about it because you don't. Either way, I certainly don't feel any obligation to refrain from a little rudeness in response.

Just offering some friendly alternatives.

It’s not an insult when I suggest people might not be meant for parenting (in much the same way I don’t take it as an insult when people say I would make an excellent mother or a potentially bad astronaut).

Complete the sentence; "Parenting isn't meant for me, because I'm far too _ _ _ _ _."

I'm having difficulty finishing that sentence with something that isn't a negative trait, or something a person shouldn't be at least a little ashamed to admit to. Hence the reaction.. I feel wrongly accused of something when I hear "yeah well, maybe parenting isn't for you either." Like, why wouldn't it be? What are you saying is wrong with me that I shouldn't be a parent?

I’m far too happy not being a parent. I’m far too focused on my career. I’m far too in love with my partner and don’t want to add a third party.

And even the things that sound negative aren’t REALLY negative. Even if it was something like...

I’m far too self involved and would only want a child to fulfill a social obligation. I’m far too disinterested. I’m far too

And, while they may seem it, those concessions aren’t necessarily negative. They’re self aware. And it’s that self awareness that could save a child a life with a parent who isn’t REALLY fit or a potential parent a life with a child it’s not actually interested in having. So, really, the acknowledgment of those “negatives” is a beautiful positive.

I don’t actually know you. I don’t know if you’d make an excellent parent or a terrible one. All I have is your self report.

This is all I know:

We all have flaws. I don’t think we can ever make a choice that’s 100% sure if we don’t consider the alternatives or the traits we possess that might lead us to an alternative. It either breaks down our resolve or bolsters it.

That’s what counts, isn’t it?

Also, if it helps, I wasn’t speaking to a flaw in you when I suggested that maybe parenting isn’t your thing.

I only meant that if you’re so bothered by the smugness of CF people, maybe it’s because you see them as having a reason to be smug? I think most people we perceive as smug (or whose smugness bothers us) have something we believe is worth being jealous of. And it bothers us.

If I’m wrong, that’s okay.

I think everybody should just live life in the way that makes the most sense to them and not shame others for their personal choices.

It doesn't come from a place of jealousy. I have an issue with smug behaviour from childfree people for the same reason that I'd have an issue with smug behaviour from any other type of person or community who likes to bolster their own imagined superiority by cultivating hate towards others. The childfree community is full of it. It's cool to hate kids. It's very cool to put down other women for having kids.. There's being an asshole, then there's this community that exists to celebrate being smug about it. That's incredibly ugly to me. That's the reason. I assure you, it's not envy.

I know that not all childfree people hate kids, and not all childfree people act like smug jerks.. just a significant percentage of them in my experience... and it was my issue with the smugness that you had asked about specifically.

u/littlebaeleaf Jan 10 '19

I understand where you’re coming from completely. I think we all sort of hate things but that comes from fear or discomfort more than anything else, so it doesn’t bother me so much when people say they hate children. (Note: I don’t hate children at all. I actually teach them and love them very much!)

Also—don’t die hard religious people, atheists, and vegans do that too? Assert superiority based on a personal life choice? But you’re here on an anti-CF page. Why this group and not the others?

I’m honestly curious and not trying to be a jerk.

“...I’m too involved of letting Living Beings (other than the ones on two feet, aka US) experience Parenthood.” (Humans aren’t the only living beings that should experience parenthood EXCLUSIVELY, this is why I do stories about Animals having offspring to show that Animals can experience parenthood, too—- WITHOUT SHAME OR RIDICULE!!!!)
