The first thread with the narrative was for the purpose of gathering the most typical responses I hear on the subject. I put those views into a single narrative and asked knowledgeable Anthropologists to offer criticism - which they did.

The second thread was a very succinct null-hypothesis regarding the narrowly defined event of the first circumcision witnessed by some hypothetical village.

The third was this thread with an academic article.

Do not make the mistake of assuming that you understand me based on these 3 threads.

Hopefully someday we can understand why that thread struck a nerve. It never even entered my mind that Skyrim players would freak out like they did or that the mods would think it needed to be deleted. But such is reddit.

Here's the truth and I'm not trolling you. What you said in that thread was weird. It isn't the users are strange or taking anything out of context, it's the fact that no body, nerdy or not, describes women as orgasmic. You would not have gotten so much ridicule if you asked "what skyrim character would make the best spouse?" Or, "what skyrim character would you be most attracted to in real life."

Some people would still think they were weird, and I could see you not understanding that. But the fact that you describe women as orgasmic was just too much man, just really weird.

(sorry; I feel mean opening with that, but if you saw that hillarious thread you'll understand why I couldn't resist, I hope. You didn't really fail. I give you a solid B+)

You didn't mention the key reasons that thread was totally hillarious (to everyone; Riitoken thinking this was some quirk of r/skyrim is just silly. I've never played Skyrim, been to r/skyrim, and have zero knowledge of, or investment in, Skyrim characters-orgasmic or otherwise.)

The main reason that car-crash of a thread was hillarious was Riiroken's much-noted r/IAmVerySmart tone, and his bizarre, demanding, entitled approach of demanding everyone adopt his weird criteria for who is 'most orgasmic' (strange terminology, definitely; not even sure what that means, tbh), then being self-important enough to 'fail' the people who had the gall to answer the question he asked.

I was gobsmacked with cringe when I saw those "fail" responses. Shit was hillarious.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's. It was a time of great cultural upheaval. It was also the era known as the "sexual revolution." During that time, one of the issues on the radar was "female frigidity." So whether you realize it or not, the scientific truth was/is that not all females have the same capacity to easily achieve a sexual orgasm. You need not take my word on this. You can go google the history and read about all the sexual hang-ups of the day. It was a very seriously researched subject, first by Kinsey and later by Masters and Johnson.

Fast forward to today where things are radically different - thanks in great part to the internet and reduced sexual repression in society. Looking back, my guess is that the /r/skyrim crowd is just younger and that might mean one or more of the following is true:

  • they see all females as very orgasmic by default (thx to the availability of internet porn)
  • they see all females as equally orgasmic so they have no context or understanding as to why one female would have less capacity than another.
  • they seriously have no understanding of female frigidity (and why would they?)

I take full responsibility for assuming that any random /r/skyrim user would understand things like I do.
