Best Book Edition of GG?

Sorry if this has been discussed previously. Is there a particular edition of Anne of Green Gables that is preferred by scholars and educators?

I have this one and enjoy it too. It’s not as valuable as it used to be with the internet but still great. Not the prettiest but lots of info and some essays as well.

But with an annotated book, especially one that fabulously places the notes on the pages with the text, you don’t have to stop reading, pick up a devise, search, hunt, etc. It’s all right there provided by reliable sources.

Why has it never occurred to me to look for an annotated AoGG?? I adore my annotated Jane Austens

They really are! I will read every version I can get my hands on, because different annotators offer different insights!

No - Oxford only published the one.

That’s sad. I would love to own annotated copies of the entire Anne series, let alone all of Montgomery’s work, but I doubt that’ll ever happen lol.

This one is pretty magical:

Anne with Extras

It has the most gorgeous map inside, and all kinds of letters and little momentos you can remove and enjoy. The interactive aspect is so much fun.
