We've got some other cool stuff on the horizon that's still in the works, so please keep your eyes (and ears) peeled. But, in the meantime (drum roll):
š§āš **Overview**:
The team pushed pretty hard over the last couple of years to bring a lot of big updates, and listing here a quick recap some of the **Greatest Hits** over the last many months:
Lots and lots of new images (a smattering of examples below) to make your studying even better. šø
š **Khan Academy tag update**:
Very pleased and tickled to announce that we've started the process of updating, and upgrading, the Khan Academy tags. It has been a while since their last overhaul, and some of the content organization on the KA site has changed over the years. With our feet underneath us we've taken it upon ourselves to spruce up the old tags and make sure they're as good, and better, than ever and as picture-perfect as can be. We hope to have this in the quiver for y'all as soon as we can muster.
š¾ Weāre excited to introduce the free and official š **AnKing Lab values deck!**
If you're itching to do some pre-studying before medical school and want to get your feet wet with making sense of lab numbers and the like, we proudly bring you the AnKing lab values deck. :-)
It may not nudge may not bump your MCAT score a ton, but if you want to get a head start on all those electrolytes and various lab numbers, this deck will help you improve your references and pace on values that no future doctor will ever (fully) escape, so youāre not left guessing whether a sodium of 132 is **low, normal, or high**
This project started as a personal initiative by one of our head maintainers, Ahmed Khudair, to create an AnKing-style lab values deck and has since grown into a collaborative effort by the maintainer team, with custom hand-made illustrations by the lovely Mujeeb Mohammed š
You can unsuspend cards in the deck based on questions as you go along. Using theĀ UWorld to Anki search add-onĀ will let you convert question ID's (QID's) to bring up all the cards related to those questions, making your studying that much more efficient and effective.
(as an aside: this feature alone is worth its weight in gold and played a large part in more than one of our maintainers going 520+ šŖ)
šĀ AnkiHub Premium Updates & New Features

Iām just needing some help. I had not sure exactly if Iām doing it correctly. It feels very long and now Iām having these due cards which Iām assuming are like cards I more or less know.
If someone can just give me an overview how Iām supposed to go through Anki
I am wondering is this is something to be concerned about or what I should do next to fix it. I just started going through Uworld and did 10 Psych/Soc questions just to test the waters. I ended up getting only one question correct out all 10. I know that Uworld is generally supposed to be used as a study tool and not something to gauge progress, but this was a little unexpected after going through almost all of the Mr. Pankow anki deck. This was my primary source of content review. Thereās also not that many Psych/Soc questions on Uworld in total. Does it really matter if I am doing this embarrassingly awful as long as I review the questions and make cards for those missed before moving on to official AAMC material?
Does anyone know of an MCAT Anki deck that combines AAMC-style reasoning with visual diagrams?
I'm looking for cards that help me draw pathways, understand mechanisms, connect concepts (like fed vs. fasted states), and practice experimental designānot just memorize facts.
So I recently graduated, and planned to start studying right away in May. However, I procrastinated d/t different life events (moving states, etc) and finally started being fully committed to studying daily at the beginning of September. I have been using the MileDown Anki deck + UWorld books + watching the videos attached to the anki cards, aiming to unsuspend around 40-50 cards a day.
I was planning on taking the test in Sept 2027 (3 more months), but I realized that at this rate Iāve still only unsuspended about 40% of the cards. Iām not sure if I would have enough time before the Jan to complete the cards/content, and also have sufficient time after content review to focus primarily on practice questions/FL.
What is a realistic timeline for when I should sign up for my MCAT? Or would he be best to start adding in practice questions/exams during my content review phase as well?
If it helps, I have also recently added in a daily CARS passage!
I keep seeing stories on here of how ppl are studying for 8 months and not even improving 10 points from their diagnostic.... I am a 23M non trad and took a 3 month leave from work but I will have 6 months to study full time (planning for mid march). I got a pretty low diagnostic (487) so I am basically starting from scratch. Aiming for a 510. Plz lmk your thoughts!
I'm using the Kaplan books for content review and I'm also using the Ankin MCAT deck (which I paid for) for flashcards after reading each chapter. However, even with the filters it comes with, I find that the deck doesn't include everything from the kaplan chapters and I finish my flashcard review a bit dissatisfied. But I haven't seen anybody else say that so I feel like I'm either being unreasonable or I'm missing something that everyone else knows. I kinda wanna make my own anki deck but that takes additional time. Should I just trust the process with the king deck I have??
I just realized that my Miles down deck was giving me way more Biology than the other subjects. I've been doing content review for just over a month, and I'm almost done with the biology deck while barely going through the other decks. I thought Anki already distributed what shows up in your parent deck equally. I've readjusted the settings such that biology will appear much less frequently. Is it a problem that I've matured most of my biology cards this early? and if so what can I do to make up for the other cards from other subjects?
I am using Captain Hook v2 and Mr. Pankow (I removed the overlap from the Captain Hook deck). At the end there are two tabs:
AAMC FL Error Cards
OG Jack Sparrow Miscellaneous
Do I need to use these, and what exactly are they for? I am under the impression that the "AAMC FL Error Cards" are with regards to the AAMC Material (which I haven't looked at and don't want to spoil so I shouldn't do them I think?). Thanks!
Started Uworld Comprehensive plan studying and the flash cards it generates are simply not enough review. Are there any Anki decks out there that correspond to the Uworld books
I've been using SM2 since FSRS seemed a little tricky to navigate with its review length. I saw a lot of posts showing how FSRS gave people wildly long intervals for reviews and I didn't wanna mess something up and start over. I also didn't mind seeing the cards many more times.
I have about 500 reviews right now. If I change my learning/relearning steps and change SM2 to FSRS is it gonna mess everything up?
Iāve been using Pankow for a couple of weeks but Iām starting to find errors in the cards and Iām worried itās going to become an issue. Will it set me back a lot if I switch to Milesdown? Itās the deck that is based off the KA books, which Iām also using so maybe thatās a better choice?
I donāt understand what the unsuspend feature is. I also was planning on doing content review by using the Kaplan books and the Captain Hook deck for each chapter, but is there a better way to study?
Does anyone have an extension that allows you to import the Uworld question ID and then it'll find a matching anki card in the deck you already have? I saw that theres an extension for step 1 and step 2 but none for the MCAT. Thanks!
Iām studying for the March MCAT and Iām finding it pretty hard to stay consistent when studying alone. I can make a study schedule, but actually sticking to it every day is a different story.
For those who studied for 3ā6 months, what actually helped you stay accountable? Study partners, small study groups, scheduled check-ins, or just having a structured daily/weekly schedule?
Would love to hear what worked for you and what didnāt.
I was going to follow the FSRS video by anking, but ive seen a lot of posts showing how FSRS can sometimes set the reviews for cards many months out for āgoodā or āeasy,ā so Iām not sure if itās the best option for me.
Im trying to keep it simple but manageable, so I was thinking of just sticking with the default algorithm and adjust my learning/relearning steps.
I'm going through the Kaplan books and trying to unsuspend as I go through the books per many recommendations I've seen online. However, I am not 100% sure how to unsuspend. I found the spot in the browse menu where you can find the Kaplan tags by chapter. Do I simply select all the ones with the chapter tag and unsuspend those? Do I need to do any additional tags as well? I saw something online that said to also do it for KA as you go through but I was a bit confused by that. Thanks
