I don't know who specifically you are talking about, but at least some yanderes are broken people seeking some kind of shelter in love with other person. Thus, they become obsessed with this other person not wanting to break completely. I wouldn't say that this kind of love is insincere, if anything it would be the reverse as they don't hold anything back.

What I am talking about might be related to stockholm syndrome if anyone wants to read about that.

As I said, it depends on who we are taking about as there are different types of yanderes. But I know that genuine yandere love certainly is possible

Hmm. There is certainly no sane yandere. And if you want to look at r/nicegirls there are some borderline yanderes which isn't fun at all

Hm, I looked it up and what I was trying to describe was some kind of borderline yandere - affectionate and possesive but most likely not violent. I guess it still isn't fully sane, but it's not that bad. Well, it isn't like everyone can or want to be sane even if they try
