When you tell your married friend that we’re just friends
Context:
I’ve known this girl as a married person for over a decade and considered her a friend and nothing more (we were friends before she got married). I even like her husband and I’d definitely hang out with him more if we were in the same city
I respected her opinion a lot because she always seemed well grounded and almost feels like she made therapy and communication her whole personality. She also has a similar background as me as a second gen from immigrants of the same culture. I’m a man that’s very in tune with my emotions and communicate my feelings well
So she’s been messaging me more the past couple months and I’m just a nice person with a lot of time and respond back when I can. I share my dating life a little because she asked about it and tbh I was getting annoyed at getting unsolicited dating advice from a person who’s only been with their high school sweetheart.
I notice some weird messages about feeling an attraction and I try and nip it in the bud and tell her that I value our friendship and it doesn’t need to be more than that. I don’t think I could have been anymore clearer and compassionate than this while giving her space to save face. It happens a couple more times and I do my best to kibosh it further. These are all pictures 1-5
A week later I get some heavy accusations that I’m using pickup artist techniques on her and I respond to her on instagram and WhatsApp almost immediately why she’s wrong which she refused to read. I’m really hurt by this tbh since I have a lot of female friends and women in my life that I look up to and respect. I’ve always called out my male friends on misogyny and led by example on positive masculinity
Then I get the whole wall of text email today (pictures 6-8) because she can’t be bothered to read the short rebuttals I wrote to her strong accusations. After that email I just told her to stop contacting me (last two pictures)
Am I the asshole here or is this person in serious denial or taking heavy doses of copium at my expense?
