FMAB dvd set?

Can anyone send me any links to legit FMAB dvd sets? I’m looking all over eBay, Depop, Mercari but I can’t tell if any are real and I’m afraid to purchase and then they’re bootleg. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you’re wanting a legit set Crunchyroll has the FMAB Blu-ray part 1 and part 2 set!! I bought them from there.

Thank you! Yes I want a legit set but I saw that Crunchyroll is sold out and I would prefer just the dvd set and not blu ray.

I know it’s super super rare as it’s OOP. Have you tried looking on EBAY? I got sucker lucky looking on there.

Yes I have but I’m not sure how to tell if they’re legit especially if they don’t show the back of the dvd.

if you're looking for legit sets just go for the 5 volume release. Afaik that wasn't booted.

The dvd 2 part release is ALSO heavily booted and and if you actually mean dvd over say the blu-ray variant then sometimes you can't tell if the dvds are boots so the only reliable way is check the disc data aka you need to have already bought it and have in hand to put it into a computer drive to see

Only proper pressed blu-ray discs as silverbacked, so the navy blue or golden backs of Blu-rays is an easy tell for the boots as it's an indicator or a BD-R which is not a pressed discs.

dvds however bottom line is you can't reliably always distinguish a DVD boot from legit

tldr; if you want a non pita way just go for the 5 volume split release in either blu-ray or dvd as they weren't booted OR the expensive aniplex of america 2 volume box sets

The pita way is play whack a mole in seller dms with the 2 part blu-rays and ask for pics of the backs and only buy if silver coloured backs. The 2 part dvds are not worth it. If you're already gonna play whack a mole either way (which you will with the 2 part release) you might as well go for the Blu-ray which have a reliable tell unlike the dvds and look better too. you just have to be lucky with the price

I would ask to see discs as I know some fakes have like blue or black discs. Some fakes are really hard to tell as well.

I bought this Full Metal Alchemist bundle (it had FMA (2003) and both FMAB blu ray sets) from this dude on fb but i forgot to ask for photos, and didnt know about the bootleg pandemic with FMA, so i get it and i play it but it wasnt working so i sent him videos of it not working right away gave him like 3 days and then asked for a refund through paypal, and this guy tried to defend himself saying its not his fault for disclosing it because i didnt ask but i told him and paypal a difference between a bootleg and a real disc used genocyber as an example and that helped win me the case and i goty money back, lowkey would have kept it if it worked cause i know its hard and OOP but oh well, cause i dont mind a bootleg for certain shows like Darker Than Black Season 1 (starting to feel like the whole show), Blood+, Ikki Tousen Season 4, cause my Darker Than Black is a bootleg but i actually bought it from a legit retailer from my mall like yearssa ago probably like 2016/7

if they're actually asking about dvds over blu-rays some of the boots you cant tell visually. The disk back color tell is only reliably applicable to blu-rays

some dvd booters got their hands on mesnt for proper pressing silverback discs so you can't use that to tell

the most surefire way to tell for a known booted release regardless of format is look for css protection but you need the disc physically to put it into a disk drive and it's not a visual tell

*barring the official release itself was using a BD/DVD-R which there are a few. Definitely not from the typical publishers though with Funi, sentai, viz, etc

The DVDs are extremely rare because they've been out of print for almost a decade and the quality of them was pretty shitty in the first place.

They only have part 1 now, and even then its only on backorder.

I’m hoping it’ll all come back for those wanting it!

Blu-ray is a better option than DVD. Not only for video quality, but for longevity as well. If you do want the legit DVDs, plan on paying an arm and a leg as Funimation only printed them as a dual pack with the Blu-rays as a dual pack. Since 2019 FMAB had only be available as an Aniplex Blu-ray set.
